The Instant Goddess Strikes Back!

Family LifePost Category - Family LifeFamily Life

Sorry goddesses for the lapse in blogging. What with a month-long mystery stomach bug, moving apartment and sleepless nights due to a teething baby, things began to slide. But the Instant Goddess is ready to strike back and share some shortcuts to instant goddess glam!

Shopping
Top of the shops this week has to be Massimo Dutti with its gorgeous Spring collection including some much-needed pops of zesty orange, hot pink and bold electric blue in these grim times of dark sale leftovers. Go and you’ll have a spring in your step.

These silk shirts at HKD$650 a pop are great under a tux jacket or rock them under a leather jacket.

Did someone say leather?! Great quality and luxuriously soft…ok a little more than you would like to pay (creeping over the HKD$3000 mark) but you can’t have everything in life.

As always, the jewel junkie in me can’t miss a fix… Check out this gold cuff, a steal at HKD$290, and a show-stopper of a gold necklace at HKD$590.

Beauty
We’ve done the wardrobe what about the make-up?! This week’s top tip comes from favourite make-up artist Jaime Smith of Smudge Make-Up Artistry. For maximum pow, day or night, always curl your lashes. For full glam lashes without adding falsies, apply a dusting of loose powder to your lashes with a soft fluffy brush before applying two generous coats of black mascara, helping to beef up your lashes.

I am looking forward to giving the new Diorshow New Look Mascara in Waterproof #090 a try… it’s the latest Biz Buzz and hits Dior counters in Hong Kong this month!

Food
What’s cooking good-looking? This is a new bit for those in need of mid-week meal inspiration that is easy to prepare but looks good… right up our street! To kick off, we’ll start with Delia Smith’s Tiger Prawn Risotto with Lobster Sauce… sounds posh, sophisticated and what’s more it’s easy-peasy Instant Goddess glam!

I use no-frills frozen prawns from Wellcome, which despite being no-frills are pretty damn good; of course, you could also use fresh ones, whilst I picked up tins of crab bisque from ThreeSixty that worked perfectly too. Rather unusually, it’s cooked in the oven, which means you can slam it in the oven while you tend to more pressing matters! If you don’t have an oven, just cook it on the stove-top but don’t forget to massage it with due love, care and attention. To get the full recipe, just click here.

Don’t forget Goddesses you are always, always worth it! Until next week…
