Sassy Mamas Hit the Runway

Yes, it’s true mamas – the runway isn’t just for the single ladies anymore. In Milan just the other day, Dolce & Gabbana ran an absolutely amazing mother-oriented fashion show to showcase their new Fall/Winter collection and celebrate motherhood. Riding on the coat tails of their family-oriented menswear show just before the end of last year, models and tiny tots hit the catwalk for an unforgettable show that had everyone smiling – yes, even some of the models!

It was impossible to keep from grinning while watching this show. Our heart was melting at the sight of babies in complex eyelet and lace couture as they blinked at A-listers obliviously. Of course, we were also pretty taken by the gorgeous crimson rose motifs that dominated the collection and golden accessories; effortlessly sophisticated dressing that would transition off the runway easily.

And mamas-to-be or those of you with older littles, they even had a little something for you too. Bianca Balti was all aglow in a gorgeous minimal blush sheath that showed off her bump, whereas the super adorable mama/daughter set on the right had sweet embroidery on it that read I love you Mama in French.

Deviating away from the pinks and reds of the previous dresses, the collection finished up with a series of dresses we’ve coined kindergarten chic, featuring children’s drawing prints that remind us an awful lot of Angelina Jolie’s wedding dress just last year. We’re absolutely in love, here’s hoping the price tags aren’t too steep…
