It’s that time again! Yup, it’s barely November but the holiday shopping fair/popup/bazaar madness has begun. But not to fear – we’ve done all the dirty work for you to make sure you don’t miss a beat. Many of these make for great family days out, with food, music, activities, crafts and more to keep everyone happy – and Santa is even popping by quite a few. So grab your diaries, ‘cause here’s our guide to all the best festive fairs in Hong Kong!

DISCOVERY BAY ZAKS PRE-CHRISTMAS SALE
When: November 6 & 7, 2012 from 8:30pm to 4:30pm
Where: Zaks Restaurant, D Deck, Discovery Bay

When: Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 10am to 6pm & Monday, December 17, 2012 from 10am to 6pm
Where: American Club Tai Tam, 28 Tai Tam Road, Tai Tam
Why Mama Loves It:  You’ll find everything under one roof: women’s & children’s apparel, accessories, educational toys, art, health & beauty products, gourmet food & wines, and so much more.

HONG KONG CRICKET CLUB CHRISTMAS FAIRS
When: 13 November, 10am-7pm; 15 November, 6.30-10pm
Where: Function Suites, Hong Kong Cricket Club, 137 Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, Causeway Bay
Why Mama Loves It: The Hong Kong Cricket Club has two festive fairs – the first is a holiday bazaar that’s certain to tick a few gifts off the shopping list; the second is a Christmas Wine & Food Fair for members and their guests only.
How much: Wine & Food Fair $150 for members, $200 for members’ guests, including $100 of coupons for buying wine

DB URBAN FARMERS’ MARKET
When: Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 10am to 4pm and Sunday December 2, 2012 from 10am to 4pm
Where: North Plaza, Discovery Bay
Why Mama Loves It: This fab open-air market has loads of locally grown produced, fresh yummy baked goods, and so much more -all set against the backdrop of the seaside landscape of DB.
Sassy Mama Tip: The DB Farmers’ Market is free to attend and can be easily reached by the Free Express Shuttle departing from DB Bus Terminus (every 30 minutes on the half hour and on the hour), or by external buses from Tung Chung or Sunny Bay MTR stations.

ISLAND EAST FARMERS’ MARKET
When: Sundays, Nov 11, Nov 18, Nov 25, Dec 2, Dec 9, Dec 16, 2012
Where: Tong Chong Street, Taikoo Place, Island East (Quarry Bay MTR Exit A)
Why Mama Loves It: A one stop shop for some of the best organic, this market also has over 40 different stalls selling a variety of produce and handcrafted goods.

CONRAD FAIR – The Gift & Lifestyle Fair
When: Monday, November 12, 2012
Where: Conrad Hotel, Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty
Why Mama Loves It: The first of three fab fairs showcasing gifts galore! You’re spoilt for choice with literally thousands of designer gifts. ‘Nuff said.

CITY KIDS HKPPA ANNUAL CHRISTMAS FAIR
When: Saturday November 17, 2012 from 11am to 5pm
Where: City Kids, 2nd Floor, 12 Borrett Road, MidLevels
Why Mama Loves It: Expect a fun-filled afternoon, complete with arts and crafts activities, a jumping castle, BBQ, fabulous bake sale and raffle with loads of great prizes. Keep a look out for all your favourite shops (including Tiny Footprints, Mirth, Mandarin Swing, and Three Little Tigers) – oh, and SANTA will be making an appearance.

CYBERPORT WEEKEND MARKETS
When: November 17-18, December 22-26, January 19-20, February 23-24, March 16-17
Where: The Podium, Cyberport 2, The Arcade Cyberport, 100 Cyberport Rd, Cyberport
Note: The December 22-26 markets will be at Ocean View Court, The Arcade, Cyberport
Why Mama Love It: A fun-filled family fair with over 50 booths and unique events like a parent-child farming session and even a creative upcycling workshop. Special programmes include the HEXbug Spider Maze Competition and The Powder Room Fashion Show. You will also be given a free snack pack to make your evening movie more enjoyable on the green lawn at The Podium.

FIS TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS FAIR – MARCHE DE NOEL
When: Saturday November 24, 2012 from 10am to 5pm
Where: 34 Price Road, Jardine’s Lookout, The Peak
Why Mama Loves It: A traditional holiday fair with a certain je ne sais quoi. More than just gifts and goodies, here you can find holiday décor and even Christmas trees and holiday hampers. And their Kids Christmas Wonderland will have lots of activities to keep the little ones entertained.

LAMMA FUN DAY
When: Saturday November 24, 2012
Where: Yung Shue Wan, Tai Wan To, Lamma Island
Why Mama Loves It: This is a fair with a difference as it helps raise funds for The Child Welfare Scheme – a charity that works with underprivileged children in Nepal helping to improve their lives through education, health and even legal issues such as preventing child trafficking. Expect loads of food stalls, music, games and loads of fun all on the beach – from volleyball to family fun race.

REPULSE BAY CHRISTMAS FAIR
When: Saturday November 24, 2012
Where: Arcade Area, The Repulse Bay, 109 Repulse Bay Road
Why Mama Loves It: A great day out and a firm favourite amongst the city’s festive fairs, featuring over 50 stalls selling Christmas decorations, ladies accessories, paintings, handicrafts and other great gift ideas – plus children’s activities, a bouncy play area (alas, only for littlies!) and a live band.

HONG KONG WINTERFEST
When: 25 November-1 January
Where: Everywhere!
Why Mama Loves It: Every year, the Western tradition of Christmas and the Eastern love of festivals meet, mingle and make merry in Hong Kong. Buildings and streets sparkle, shop sales thrill, festive menus fill, and carol singers rejoice.

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FAMILY FUN FAIR
When: Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 11am to 4pm
Where: Canadian International School, 36 Nam Long Shan Road, Aberdeen
What Mama Loves It: While the shopping’s good and there’s a ton to eat and drink, we love the family-friendly activities at this fun fair. And it’s not the run of mill stuff. Think pony rides, a bungee run, sumo wrestling, and a rodeo bull!
How Much: You can get early bird discounted tix on their website now for only $100. Tickets on the day of the fair will be $120.

JWA ANNUAL CHARITY BAZAAR 2012
When: Sunday November 25, 2012 from 10am to 5pm
Where: The Island School, 20 Borrett Road, Mid-levels
How Much: Kids are free, Adults $20.
Why Mama Loves It: The Jewish Women’s Association bazaar will be selling an assortment of branded clothing, bags, accessories, toys, homeware and other Christmas items – with all proceeds going to charity. There’ll also be food, activities and much more fun for all the family.  But remember to bring your ID card for entry.

HULLET HOUSE CHRISTMAS MARKET
When: Saturday and Sunday, December 1-2, 2012, 12pm-9pm
Where: Hullett House, 1881 Heritage, No. 2A Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
Why Mama Loves It: Hong Kong’s only traditional Christmas Market is back for its second year! Hullett House’s historical courtyard and garden will be transformed once again into a quintessential European Christmas Market, with a mouth-watering array of specially-selected sausages, smoked meats, cheese, teas, gingerbread, Christmas cakes, chocolate, jams, preserves – and even a sneaky tipple of mulled wine and eggnog too! There’ll also be Christmas cards, ornaments, books and other seasonal gifts, with carol-singing and a special appearance from Santa and his reindeers – so there’s absolutely no excuse for not getting into the festive spirit!

GERMAN SWISS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
When: Saturday, December 1, 2012
Where: GSIS, 11 Guildford Road, The Peak
Why Mama Loves It: German Swiss International School’s biggest annual fundraiser will have a host of fun family games, home-baked goodies and traditional German Christmas food and decorations amongst the usual stalls offering toys, books and clothing.

ITALIAN WOMEN’S ASSOCIATION CHARITY BAZAAR
When: Saturday December 1, 2012 from 10am to 5pm
Where: Gardens of The Duchess of Kent Children’s Hospital 12, Sandy Bay Road, Pokfulam
How Much: $20
Why Mama Loves It: There are two main attractions here:  ‘Il Mercatino’, a bazaar of Italian products, and the ‘Le Grazie’ restaurant serving authentic Italian dishes prepared by the local Italian community. Tables can be booked, and a delicious meal enjoyed, at a minimal cost and with all proceeds supporting the Duchess of Kent hospital, a paediatric hospital specialized in orthopaedics, neurology and degenerative diseases.
Note: There is no parking available, so please use public transport!

ISLAND SCHOOL CHRISTMAS FAIR
When: Saturday December 1, 2012 from 2pm to 6:30pm
Where: Island School, 20 Borett Road, Mid- Levels
Why Mama Loves It: Loads of stalls selling toys, books, clothes and other gifts, a Food Hall dishing up homemade delicacies from countries around the world plus entertainment throughout the day.

Why Mama Loves It: Another stalwart of the festive fair season, vendors will be selling jewellery, accessories, clothes, toys, crafts and other Christmas gifts. A jazz band will also be playing throughout the day to keep your festive spirits high!

THE CHRISTMAS LIST SHOPPING WALK
When: Wednesday December 5, 2012, 6-10pm
Where: Central and Sheung Wan (see full list of stores here)
Why Mama Loves It: This unique one night only event includes fourteen fabulous shops (with some faves such as Polkadot, The9thMuse, Itsie Bitsie, Love It and Fast Beauty) opening later than usual with little nibbles and cheeky glasses of vino at each store to keep you energised whilst you Christmas shop!

Why Mama Loves It: Join them for a Christmas Bazaar in a cozy indoor venue in Wan Chai this December. There will be lots of crafty gifts, demos and a gift wrapping service.
