Give back and get inspired at this year’s Women of Hope Awards lunch, an incentive from the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation’s Charity Outreach Program.

While many of us have the privilege of access to medical care for health issues big and small, it’s easy to forget that this isn’t the case for everyone in the 852. This is where the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation’s (HKAHF) Charity Outreach Program comes in.

Jo Soo-Tang, the chairman of the foundation (and one of our That Mama’s!aims to have an approach that is multi-faceted through the care service. The Outreach Program provides financial assistance to disadvantaged patients from around the region. Its mission: to assist and support those whose quality of life could be drastically improved by medical treatment, yet who lack the financial capacity to even consider seeking proper medical help.

So far, the program has made significant contributions to society, helping restore happiness and hope in families with ongoing suffering, pain and uncertainty. Funds that have benefited so far include the Adventist Paediatric Heart Fund, the Cancer Fund and the Children’s Hearing Fund, to name a few.

At this year’s Women of Hope Awards lunch at Asia Society, all proceeds raised will help further the work and reach of the HKAHF Cancer Fund, helping financially struggling ill individuals seek sufficient medical aid. Together with Tatler, HKAHF will be raising money for PET and CT or MRI scans for child cancer patients whose families can’t afford such investigations. Donations will also give less privileged cancer patients access to the Adventist Hospital Oncology Centre.

The lunch will make for a meaningful day; established in 2014, the Women of Hope Awards recognises Hong Kong’s influential women: those who tirelessly fight for the social justice of women, children, and our community, alongside those who have made their mark in the city through their ability to create, inspire and offer hope to all, both at home and abroad.

Eight Women of Hope honourees from various industries in Hong Kong will be celebrated on the day, sharing their stories with us. There will also be testimonials from inspiring cancer survivors and a message from the Board of the HKAHF. Don’t delay booking, last year’s Women of Hope Awards was a sold out event!

If you’d like to contribute more to the health of our society and support the women working to make a difference, attending the Women of Hope Awards is a great start.

…Why not make a day of it and bring a group of girlfriends along?
