Happy Valentine’s Day, mamas!
Supplies you will need:
- Red Paint (or any colour you like)
- Paint tray
- Frame (optional)
- White paper or thick cardstock (size depends on the size of your frame)
- Scrap paper
- Pencil with an unused eraser (or any item you have to make small dots like cotton buds, round wooden chopstick or fingers!)
- Scissors
- Blu-Tack
Fold your scrap paper in half and draw half a heart shape against the fold. This will give you a perfect even heart shape. A great activity for little hands that are practicing tracing and pencil holding.
Keep the paper folded and cut out your half heart shape along your pencil line. Another great activity to help your little practise using scissors.
Put small amounts of Blu-Tack around the edges of the heart. Make sure the edges are secure as you don’t want any paint to creep under the edges.
Place the heart in the middle of your card stock and press down firmly on all the pieces of Blu-Tack. Make sure the heart is positioned exactly in the middle of your page.
Put a small amount of paint in a paint tray. Now for the fun part, let the stamping begin! Stamp dots all over the page. Make sure you stamp enough around the edges of the heart so it creates a nice defined heart shape then leave to dry.
When the paint is totally dry, carefully peel off the heart shape to reveal a beautiful dotty heart masterpiece!
Now trim the edges if necessary so it fits into your frame or ask your little one to add a sweet message to send as a heartfelt Valentine to his/her friends!
