Did someone say rocket ship? The Southern waterfront of The Hong Kong Children’s Hospital in Kai Tak is home to family-friendly facilities including a large lawn area, a children’s outdoor playground featuring aviation-themed play areas, benches and rest areas. There’s even a baby care room nearby.

Cha Kwo Ling Outdoor Playground

Cha Kwo Ling Promenade, Kwun Tong

We’re big fans of seaside playgrounds and the one at Cha Kwo Ling Promenade is no exception! Bring the kids to the pavilions, play areas, climbing equipment and swings or watch them frolic around giant open spaces. You can even bring your pooch along and head to the pet park!

This 6,400 square meter children’s outdoor playground boasts three large nature-themed play zones. MOKO Children’s Playground, Mong Kok

Located on the fourth floor at MOKO, this children’s playground was the talk of the town when it first opened in 2021! It covers an area of 18,000 feet. It has a climbing wall that is 8 meters off the ground, bird theme play equipment with slides, rope climbers, swings and more. What makes it even better is that it’s right next to the food court where you can take the kids after playtime!

Another hidden gem is this dinosaur-themed outdoor playground tucked away in Choi Hung. It makes for a great day out for the kids, as they explore caves and discover all things dinosaurs. The playground also has a 7-a-side soccer pitch, tennis courts and table tennis facilities.

Home to a beautiful Bauhinia garden with around 120 bauhinia trees, Kowloon Tsai Park is located near Kowloon Tong Station Exit E.  There are soccer pitches, a roller skating rink, a jogging track, a children’s playground, plus a dog garden for your furry friends.

Kowloon Park, Tsim Sha Tsui

Just like Hong Kong Park on the other side of the harbour, Kowloon Park has a beautiful lake and plays host to 18 different species of birds (including some rather fabulous flamingos). Facilities include football pitches, extensive gardens, an ornamental maze and a playground. Also on site is Kowloon Park’s huge aquatic centre with several indoor and outdoor pools and Kowloon Park Sports Centre, with sports halls and courts galore. If you have been struggling to find places to take your fur baby, some of the parks listed above are known to be dog-friendly and you can also find a complete list of pet-friendly parks and gardens here. Within the city, these spots are often quite small but serve the purpose if you want to have your kids throw a ball for your playful pups.
