To celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (Saturday 3 December), Hong Kong Charity, CareER is teaming up with AIA MPF to hold their first ever fundraising walkathon!
The aim of the walkathon is to raise awareness about people with different abilities, and remove some of the stigmas in Hong Kong by celebrating all abilities! There will be simulation activities (like braille and lip-reading) encouraging participants to consider aspects they may take for granted on a daily basis. Plus, we even hear a little rumour that guide dogs will be there on the day!
With our very own Sassy Girl, Tania working for the event organisers, SENsational Consultancy, this is a cause especially close to our hearts!
The event is open to all ages and abilities (and is wheelchair accessible), with funds going directly to CareER, helping people with disabilities develop their careers!
They are looking for corporates, groups, families, and individuals to get involved, so make sure to register soon!
Looking to lend a helping hand? They’re recruiting volunteers here! Volunteers will also need to attend a debriefing session on the 21st November (after work hours) to understand roles and responsibilities. Register here!
For more details, check out the event Facebook page!
From 10:30am to 1pm. Volunteers will need to be there from 8:30am to 1:30pm.
The route will be from the Hong Kong Observation Wheel to Tamar Garden.
