More than cheesecake…

When we heard that The Cheesecake Factory was coming to Hong Kong (doors open on Monday, 1 May), with 25 varieties of cheesecakes to choose from, we were all set for a sugar rush! If you’re not already familiar with this American institution, you’ll be surprised to see just how extensive the menu is. With generous portions of fresh salad, plenty of pizzas and pastas, and a never-ending option of desserts, the hardest part is picking what to order.

We started with freshly baked bread, before making our way onto the wine list. If you’re looking for an extra pick-me-up, you can sip your way through the mojitos too! For children’s parties, it also offers a wide selection of milkshakes (and tea and coffee to keep the parents on their toes!).

We decided to attempt a little #worklifebalance (pssst… it didn’t work out!) and began with the classic Spinach Artichoke Dip. It came just as we envisioned: bubbling with hot, gooey cheese and paired with a family-sized portion of nachos with a side of salsa and sour cream. This is one to share with the whole clan!

To add some healthy greens to the mix (in true Sassy style!), we opted for a salad that was stacked sky-high with crispy wontons, grilled chicken, macadamia nuts, sesame and pineapple – yes, we’re talking about the Hawaiian Luau Salad. Bright, colourful and full of freshness, this was a dish we’d definitely order again. Sassy Mama Tip: make sure to break up the large wonton pieces before digging in!

Next came the Everything Pizza, which is basically the best choice for someone who has trouble deciding between all the options. Great for sharing, it’s the perfect size for mama and papa or hungry toddlers who love a good slice of ‘za.

And of course we couldn’t go to The Cheesecake Factory without ordering cheesecake! We went with the servers recommendation and top seller, the Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake. Our forks sliced easily into the smooth, creamy and sweet cheesecake – truly the ultimate for any sweet tooth lover! If there was one thing we would want more of (besides another slice!) was a thicker graham cracker base.

Bring the whole gang, your stretchy pants and prepare yourself for some classic American dining at The Cheesecake Factory!
