Entertainment for the Entire Family: KidsFest 2018 is Back!

Back by popular demand, KidsFest is returning for its seventh edition, bringing family entertainment to all ages. As one of the largest theatre events for children in Asia, KidsFest will be held at the Hong Kong Performing Arts from 12 January to 11 February, 2018. You can expect nine world-class productions from a variety of performance styles from all over the world spanning over five weeks! The fun-filled KidsFest is dedicated to engage children in literature and language and offers a perfect blend of live entertainment, education and all-around fun for the entire gang.

We’re talking about all-time favourites that are sure to get your kiddos laughing and singing along. For shows suitable for 2 years old and up check out:

The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson returns to the stage and bringing back catchy songs whilst promising lots of laughs. Another Julia Donaldson fav, What the Ladybird Heard is a brand-new stage adaptation of her colourful farmyard adventure tale. While Hairy Maclary and Friends is all about an animal adventure, based on the much-loved children’s book of a heart-warming tale. Emily Brown and the Thing, is full of magic and music which will have your littles wondering what goes bump in the night! Maybe a classic Hans Christian Andersen tickles your fancy? Ugly Duckling will retell the classic story whilst teaching your kiddos the timeless importance of identity, self-worth and discovering inner beauty. Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers is making its way to the stage to tell the story of a boy, a penguin and their unlikely journey together. Or check out Monstersaurus, a brand-new show that follows a young inventor, Monty as he creates a whole world of incredible monsters.

For the older kiddos aged 6 and up, check out, I Believe in Unicorns. Based on an award-winning book it is a tale of the power of books, and the bravery of a young boy called Tomas. And for your dinosaur-lovin’ kids, you have to check out Dinosaur Zoo where these prehistoric animals come “alive”. Your kiddos can explore up-close or watch from afar as this educational and unique performance while inspire future palaeontologists.
