All that glitters
I love the sequin jackets that are in the shops at the moment — a perfect evening cover up for the cooler winter evenings. If you’re not quite ready to go the whole sequin hog, this ASOS blazer above is a perfect compromise. Zara is also carrying a few styles of sequin jackets but they are selling fast and you know what stock control is like in Hong Kong… get it before it goes!
If you’re not already on ASOS’s mailing list get on it! As they regularly have 20%, sometimes 30% off and international shipping is free, free, free!
The Inbetweeners
Enough of the glitz? Never, I hear you say!
So at last it has opened its doors. Friends of mine have been in a frenzy for weeks about the prospect of our very own Gap in HK. I was more doubtful assuming that the prices would be marked up ridiculously but I popped in today and the prices are refreshingly reasonable akin to what we would pay in the UK, I know, I know more expensive than the US but good compared to what we’re normally used to here in HK. The Kids & Baby section is the best. The Womens and Menswear is split between the ground floor and the basement. As a result the womenswear seems small. I wasn’t wowed by any of the knitwear but the good news is that they do have a good selection of jeans and the prices are good… 500HKD for a pair of dark indigo flares, nice one! Another pair of skinnies I picked up were 300HKD and of course ’tis now the jean season so go forth!
