The holiday season is well in full swing, so we’ve put together an exhaustive list of fairs, markets and bazaars that are happening over the next few weeks. From some of our outdoor favourites to the indoor ones that can be a mammoth to navigate, our list will surely inspire you to get on that Christmas shopping ASAP! Whether it’s handmade arts and crafts, food items or holiday décor you’re after, you’re sure to be spoilt for choice – time to finally get your Christmas shopping done early this year, mamas!

Island East

ISLAND EAST MARKET
Ever since it opened, Island East Market has attracted numerous happy Sunday goers and families alike. This cute outdoor market has a variety of stalls – from clothes and accessories, to fresh organic products produced by local farmers. And if you’re looking for some handmade goodies to stuff the little ones stockings with, this is the perfect place to snap them up. Look out for any festive specials and definitely pop down from 23 November onward for a full-on Christmas theme at the market. A number of bakery vendors will be selling delicious pastries, with proceeds going toward Operation Santa Clause, helping disadvantaged people in Hong Kong and China.

PICNIC IN THE PARK
Who wouldn’t want to enjoy a live music and dance festival in one of Hong Kong’s prettiest parks? Picnic in the Park is back in DB this year, and it’s guaranteed to be a fun day of entertainment. Bring the family and some friends along for a chilled out day this November (don’t forget snacks and a picnic rug!).

When: 8 November, 10.30am – 9.30pm

HONG LOK YUEN SCHOOL FAIR
Expect this to be a day filled with lots of shopping, eating, drinking and a programme packed with entertainment and games in the outskirts of the ‘Kong! Make sure to get there on time, because we heard the school fair is opening with a lion dance this year, and the littlies won’t want to miss that!

When: 8 November, 10.30am onwards

DISCOVERY BAY SUNDAY MARKET
Previously known as ‘Handmade Hong Kong in Discovery Bay’, Discovery Bay Sunday Market is an indie arts and crafts fair that is scheduled every second Sunday of the 2014 calendar year. The marketplace is a hub that gathers the best artisanal products that are made in Hong Kong. A great chance to find unique presents and support the local arts!

When: 9 November / 14 December, 11am – 6pm

CONRAD FAIR – PRE-CHRISTMAS GIFT PARADE
Get excited for the first of not one, not two, not three, but four Christmas Prestige Fairs at the Conrad Hotel! With hundreds of vendors and an abundance of great gifts, you’re sure to get a good chunk of Christmas shopping done at these fabulous fairs. Sassy Mama Tip: Look out for beautiful photograph collections from Fleye Photography at the Gift and Lifestyle fair this year – we can’t wait to get our hands on them!

FRINGE CLUB HOLIDAY BAZAAR 2014
This year, ShoppingHongKong presents another awesome holiday bazaar at The Fringe Club, with 20 vendors showcasing gifts galore. Stock up on jewellery for the sister or in laws, clothing for the kids and more (we’ve got our eye on Aromatherapy Associates skincare!), and don’t forget to enjoy a complimentary hairstyling sesh from Airplay if you’re in the mood for a spot of pampering!

When: 13 November, 12 – 8pm
Where: The Fringe Club, 2 Lower Albert Road, Ground Floor, Central, Hong Kong

HARBOUR ARTISANAL
If you’ve got a love for food, then you won’t be disappointed with this fair in Tai Hang! Harbour Artisanal is making a comeback this November after its previous success. Expect delicious goodies on offer from some of our favourite F&B businesses, including Young Master Ales, La Chouette, Sunday Bakeday and many more! This is no doubt the best place to get quality food this holiday season, and we love the laid back neighbourhood vibe of Tai Hang too (check out our Tai Hang guide here!).

When: 14 November, 5 – 10pm / 15-16 November, 12 – 7pm

SOUTH ISLAND SCHOOL NIGHTFEST
Experience an epic night of ‘60s retro’ at SIS this coming November, and make sure you save plenty of stomach space for the international food and drink stalls! There will be loads of activities to keep the whole family busy on the day – game stalls, Christmas shopping, live music and the school’s first and very special enterprise project, which will showcase products and services created by students. Don’t forget to spread the word, the more the merrier!

When: 14 November, 5 – 10pm

AWA CHARITY BAZAAR 2014
The popular AWA Charity Bazaar is making its annual comeback this year – and it’s bigger and better than ever! There will be more than 100 vendors showcasing fabulous gifts for you to splurge on, so it’s the perfect chance to get those Christmas gifts. There will also be a terrace café featuring plenty of baked goodies and more from selected vendors such as Magnolia Private Kitchen and Little Burro, and of course we can’t forget the ever popular Lucky Lai See, where you can win some amazing prizes. Pre-order a Lucky Lai See here if you can’t make it to the event, but don’t want to miss out on the fab prizes!

When: 14 November, 10am – 6pm
Where: Hong Kong Jockey Club (entrance B), Happy Valley, Hong Kong
How much: $20. All participants must be 18 years or older! Mini bus pick up and drop off service between HKJC, Happy Valley and Pacific Place will start from 9:30am and end at 5.15pm.

HIDDEN TRUFFLES XMAS POP-UP BAZAAR
Here at Sassy Mama, we know a perfect bazaar means there should be something for everyone to enjoy, and Hidden Truffles Xmas Pop-up Bazaar knows how to do just that! Enjoy a day of high quality shopping from a selection of unique, handmade and personalised gifts, and munch your way through the authentic multi-cuisine food carts while the little ones have their fun at the kids’ corner without the need of your supervision (a win-win situation!).

CHINESE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL BAZAAR
As one of the biggest events on the school calendar, Chinese International School will make this year’s bazaar as much fun as possible! Filled with vendors, charity stalls and plenty of entertainment for everyone to enjoy, this fair is open to the public and guarantees a fun day out. Sassy Mama tip: get there early to snap up second-hand designer goods at a bargain!

When: 22 November, 10am – 4pm

SHA TIN COLLEGE AND JUNIOR SCHOOL FAIR
Come and enjoy a fabulous day with your family and friends at the Shatin College and Junior School’s fund-raising fair, where there will be a wide selection of international food and drinks and second-hand uniform and book stalls, as well as lots of games and entertainment for everyone!

When: 22 November, 12-6pm
Where: 3 Lai Wo Lane, Fo Tan, Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong
How much: Free! There will be a free shuttle from 11am onwards at the Sha Tin station near the minibus stops.

CITY KIDS HKPPA ANNUAL CHRISTMAS FAIR
Expect a joyful and festive fair at City Kids’ HKPPA Annual Christmas Fair. Get some Christmas shopping in and enjoy some scrummy baked treats while the little ones have their own fun at the bouncy castle, or perhaps, get mad creative at the cookie-decorating workshop! Perfect for a family affair with plenty activities for any little ones.

When: 22 November, 11am – 5pm

JOY LIFESTYLE WEEKEND BAZAAR
Spend a fund weekend at the Joy Lifestyle Weekend Bazaar at Cyberport. There will be plenty of stalls and lots of entertainment and performances to watch too. It will certainly be a sweet escape from the concrete jungle for city dwellers!

When: 22-23 November / 13-14 December, 11.30am – 6pm

JWA Annual Charity Bazaar 2014
This year, the Jewish Women’s Association Hong Kong is hosting their annual bazaar to help raise funds for charities in both Hong Kong and Israel, focusing on organizations that help women and children in need. This charity bazaar will be full of gifts and it’s all for a very worthy cause… see you there!

When: 23 November, 10am – 5pm

SOOOO FRENCH CHRISTMAS SALE
This year Soooo French will be hosting two Christmas bazaars, and they’ve selected some amazing French brands for you to choose from! Browse from a chic selection of clothing, jewellery, art and home décor – we’re sure you’ll find something here that you have to take home. Best of all, the shopping is all for a great cause – a portion of the sales will be donated to Enfants du Mekong, which helps children of South-East Asia have access to education by building schools and dispensaries through micro-projects.

KEE CLUB’S 6th ANNUAL HOLIDAY BAZAAR
How does a full day of shopping and a free-flowing dim sum bar sound to you, mama? KEE Club will kick off the festive season with their holiday bazaar and they’ve handpicked Hong Kong’s 20 best brands to be featured on the day! Get your holiday groove on, because this will be one of the most show-stopping shopping events in town…

LITTLE SQUARE CHRISTMAS POP-UP SHOP
Check out Little Square’s very festive Christmas pop-up shop, running from 27 Nov to 24 Dec. You’ll be able to pick up everything from delicate glass ornaments to nutcrackers to beautifully crafted Christmas trees, while munching on free homemade cookies (limited amount available daily so make sure to get there early)!

CLEARWATER BAY SCHOOL MEDIEVAL FUN FAYRE

Travel back in time for a bit of medieval fun at the CWBS School Fair – think lords and ladies, knights and maidens… It will be a very merry day for everyone, especially as there’s plenty to eat and buy at the marketplace!

When: 29 November, 1 – 5pm
Where: Lot 235, D229 Clearwater Bay Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong
How much: Free!

GERMAN SWISS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
If you want to experience Oktoberfest once more, then simply make your way to the GSIS Christmas bazaar where you can enjoy a very similar vibe. It’s about time you satisfy that meat craving (hello sizzling bratwurst!), and of course, you can’t forget the shopping. Ich wünsche Ihnen eine schöne Zeit! Or “have a lovely time!”.

When: 29 November, 10am – 4pm
Where: GSIS, 22 Guildford Road, The Peak, Hong Kong
How much: Free! Remember mamas, there’s no parking! But shuttle buses will be available from Central General Post Office to the Bazaar. Alternatively take bus no. 15 or minibus no. 1 to get to GSIS from Central.

JCCAC HANDCRAFT FAIR
Held once every three months, the JCCAC Handcraft Fair is the ideal place to come if you’re looking for all things arty and crafty. Check out original works from over 100 artisans, and you’re more than welcome to join their guided tour of the open studios. See some of the cool snaps from last year here – if you’re into art this is the fair for you!

When: 29 – 30 November, 1 – 7pm

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL FAMILY FUN FAIR
This year Canadian International School brings back its beloved annual event with more fun for everyone! There won’t a dull moment at the fair, because it’s jam-packed with performances, activities, games, art and crafts, food, music and so much more.

When: 30 November, 10.30am – 4pm
Where: Canadian International School, 36 Nam Long Shan Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong
How much: $150 for kids (free for adults and kids under 2 years old). Early bird tickets will be available until midnight on 15 November, get your tickets here or here.

WOMEN IN FINANCE ASIA HOLIDAY SHOPPING BAZAAR
Following the success of last year’s event, this year, WIFA is hosting another holiday shopping bazaar, which will focus on women supporting other women who are in business (go mamas!). There will be a lucky draw and anyone who donates more than $100 will receive a goodie bag and all proceeds received by WIFA will go to a nominated charity.

SENSE OF TOUCH CHRISTMAS BAZAAR
Sense of Touch’s Christmas Bazaar is conveniently located in LKF, and knowing the oh-so-busy days many of you mamas have, they have arranged their bazaar to start after office hours! Be ready to get your hands on Koket Jewellery, Kaprice scarves, Elemis skincare gift sets and Five Senses festive hampers. Two hours of shopping is the perfect way to relieve some stress in our humble opinions!

When: 4 December, 7 – 9pm

SWIRE PROPERTIES WHITE CHRISTMAS STREET FAIR
Swire Properties will be hosting a 3-day-candy-themed community event to kick-start the festive season! Be prepared for the sweetest Christmas yet… quite literally – there will be sweets everywhere! Shop, eat and cheer for your favourite player at Hong Kong’s first-ever outdoor ice hockey championship… exciting! Look out for the fun and festive goodies from Sim’s Sweetshop too, perfect for anyone with a sweet-tooth!

HULLETT HOUSE CHRISTMAS MARKET 
Celebrate a magical Christmas amongst the fairy lights at Hullett House’s special open-air market from 5-7 December. Set in the 50 Pigeons Courtyard in the iconic colonial heritage setting, Hullett’s Christmas market will feature enticing entertainment and plenty of tasty international treats including festive ham, smoked meats, champagne, wine, a range of Swiss cheeses, and chocolates to your heart’s content!

HONG KONG WINTERFEST
We may not have white fluffy snow falling from our part of the sky here in Hong Kong, but the city always manages to muster up a festive spirit! Look out for buildings sparkling in red and green, Christmas sales taking over the shops and carol singers on the streets. Check out all the city’s most festive events here… There’s nothing quite like a Hong Kong Christmas!

QUARRY BAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS FAIR
Organised by the School’s PTA, the Quarry Bay School Christmas Fair will be a relaxed evening of family-friendly fun and leisurely shopping. Get away from the Friday night crowds and head over to Braemar Hill, where you can enjoy a glass of mulled wine as you browse the marketplace and munch on a selection of international food. With entertainment from the school’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ finalists, second-hand book stalls and crafts made by the school children themselves, this is perfect for a casual night out with the family.

Attention wine lovers! Here’s your chance to taste over 800 wines across 100 booths as you overlook the spectacular harbour view of Hong Kong. IL MERCANTO CHARITY FAIR AT SANDY BAY
Tuck into fabulous food and equally fabulous fashion items at this charity event held by The Italian Women’s Association. Fellow shopaholics, this one is for you as there will be amazing brands up for grabs including  Furla, Cavalli, Max Mara, Diesel, Guess (and the list goes on!). We’ve also heard the food served up will come from the best Italian restaurants in town – La Piola, Giando Bombana and Ciak, Cova, and lots more. Retail therapy and delicious food, all for a good cause? We’re in!

ISLAND SCHOOL WINTER FAIR
Get nostalgic and hit up another school fair this season for shopping, eating and reminiscing. Island School’s Winter Fair will have plenty of food and drinks to cure that empty stomach and of course there’ll be games and entertainment, charity stalls, a lucky draw with amazing prizes and lots more… There will be some great secondhand goodies to buy too so don’t miss out!

FIS TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS FAIR – MARCHE DE NOEL
Get festive at the start of December with the French International School. They are bringing back their annual Christmas fair and everyone is invited! For kids, there will be creative activities like calligraphy, painting, and jewellery-making, and you can indulge in a fabulous shopping spree and drop by the café after for some Christmas sweets and savoury goodies!

When: 6 December, 10am – 5pm
Where: FIS Primary School Campus, 34 Price Road, Jardine’s Lookout, Hong Kong

TREE LIGHTING & LA FÊTE DE NOËL
The Christmas tree lighting ceremony has always been a Four Seasons’ tradition for celebrating the festive season with their guests. Not only is the tree lighting a beautiful and magical event, but the hotel also will be offering a traditional, gourmet selection of your favourite Christmas dishes to tickle your taste buds, along with entertainment that is sure to leave you feeling very merry. Perfect if you want to celebrate the holiday season in style!

SOJO CHRISTMAS MARKET
Sip on mulled wine and eat macarons, listen to Christmas carols, take part in a candle-making workshop, make Christmas wreaths and enjoy face painting at the SOJO Christmas Market, hosted by LALA CURIO & JOUER on 13 December! All the fabulous neighborhood shops in this quirky area will be offering 10% off too – don’t miss out, mama!

SAI KUNG CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL
In December, Hong Kong Golf and Tennis Academy (HKGTA) and Sai Kung District Community Centre (SKDCC) will be hosting the Sai Kung Christmas Carnival. The Carnival will feature an array of around 30 unique stalls by local small business owners. A range of goodies from arts and crafts to organic wine, handmade Christmas decorations, jewellery, eco-friendly stationary as well as toys and games and locally sourced fresh produce will provide plenty of ideas to shop for stocking fillers and more! Entertainment includes Christmas carolers, face painting, bouncy castles, games and visits from Santa on both days!

X’MAS MARKET OLYMPIAN CITY
Opened by the same people behind Island East markets, this new holiday fair is based off a European theme with rich festive decor and plenty of vendors to tempt eager holiday shoppers. When you’re tired of lugging around those shopping bags, sit and enjoy the free mini music concerts or join in a fun workshop where you can meet Santa!

When: 13, 14, 20, 21, 24, 25 December, 1pm – 9pm
Where: Open Piazza, G/F, Olympian City 2 (Exit D of Olympic MTR Station)
How much: Free admission

HONG KONG WINTER MEGA SHOWCASE 2014
The 12th Hong Kong Winter Mega Showcase is the city’s annual highlight and has never failed to impress the people of Hong Kong. Picture this as an indoor carnival with plenty to eat and drink and loads to shop for! Don’t miss out – because who doesn’t love a carnival?

When: 25 – 28 December
