If your little ones have ever snatched the crisp copy of your favourite newspaper from your hands, you can probably assume either:

a)    They are a genius
b)    They have an art project and need table protection.

But in all seriousness, it’s never too early for your children to read about the world, and that’s where Kids Dailies come in.

Brainchild of media veteran Christine Brendle, formerly Publisher of The Wall Street Journal Asia and President of ELLE Publishing in Asia Pacific, Kids Dailies publishes age-appropriate current affairs dailies, sent to your home from Monday to Saturday (or weekly editions for the youngest readers).

Each issue contains a wide variety of daily news articles, pictures, jokes and cartoons to encourage reading and learning via a whole host of topics – ensuring that even the most inquisitive of little minds won’t get bored!

The editions on offer are:

My Little Paper: designed for children from 2-5 years old, this weekly English language issue helps to establish reading as a habit – from toddlers all the way up to primary-age kids. Sent out every Friday, this 8-page paper features bright and colourful illustrations alongside fun articles, activities and exercises that encourage all kids in language, mathematical and art-based learning.

Daily 7: this English language paper contains daily news items carefully selected to appeal to children from 5-8 years old. Designed for those who are just beginning to read, the 4-page edition increases vocabulary and helps to develop those burgeoning language skills with content designed to compliment what is taught at school.

Daily 10: once reading is well established in 8-11 year olds, more complex vocabulary and sentence structure can be introduced via this 4-page daily paper, while more in-depth content helps to broaden your tween’s knowledge of current affairs. Typical highlights include news items, maps, educational graphics and a dictionary section. There are also fun games and competitions to take part in.

Subscription details: My Little Paper costs just $40 per month, while Daily 7 and Daily 10 are just $88 per month, inclusive of a digital edition in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). Minimum subscription of 3 months. Dailies deliver to Hong Kong addresses only.
