 That’s #SoSassy

Spring Break is over for some of us and we’re looking for something to keep us entertained other than our “spirited” kids running amok. We’ve rounded up some of our favourite viral videos and trending articles that have us asking, “Have you seen this?!” to everyone we come across. Take a look at our picks this week that will cure those post-holiday blues.

Baby, Put Your Hands Up!

We all know the swaddle struggle is real, mamas. How many times have we carefully wrapped our baby only to have him break out in the middle of the night? These parents have taken that conundrum to a whole new level and paired their baby’s “break out” to Top 40 pop songs and famous movie lines. Two thumbs up for cuteness and creativity!

Super Dad to the Rescue

For parents who’ve ever potty trained their children will understand how upsetting it can be for their little ones when accidents happen especially if they happen outside of home. Kindergartener Valerie, happened to have one of those accidents while at school and needed to be picked up by her parents. Enter Valerie’s dad, Ben Sowards who comes to the rescue in an amazing, hilarious and heart-felt way. Knowing that Valerie would be embarrassed by the accident, he splashes water all over his pants and asks to borrow her backpack to cover up his “accident” which made Valerie smile and obliges. What a dad!

La La Land… it’s Prom Season!

If you haven’t heard of a promposal, you’re about to see one of the most epic ones in the video above! A propmosal is essentially a grand way for teens to ask one another to prom and this teen, Jacob Staudenmaier sets his goals high. He recreates the opening number from Oscar-winning La La Land and proceeds to ask the lead actress Emma Stone to prom. You gotta love his ambition and effort… here’s hoping she responds with a “yes”!

We've been looking for clever ways for the whole family to eat more veggies.... purple pasta might do the trick! ⠀
Insta-Worthy Sweet Potato Pasta 💜
1 cup of purple sweet potato, or orange (which is easier to work with texture wise i find) steamed or roasted ⠀⠀
1-1 1/2 cup of unsweetened plant milk (but we'll use regular)⠀⠀
1 clove of roasted garlic ⠀⠀
1-2 tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes ⠀
1 tablespoon of olive oil or vegan butter ⠀
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice ⠀⠀
1 teaspoon smoked paprika ⠀⠀
pinch of sea salt (to taste) ⠀⠀
pinch of black pepper (to taste) ⠀⠀
Blend all your ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth, adjusting the thickness to your liking by adding less or more (plant) milk. Adjust seasonings to your preference also, and serve over freshly cooked pasta. This sauce is best enjoyed right away, as it can clump and change in texture after being refrigerated.⠀⠀
