Gather your tribe and lend a helping hand

After the devastation caused by Typhoon Mangkhut, government teams have been doing a great job of getting Hong Kong moving again. But our beaches and trails need your help to clear away any rubbish, debris and fallen trees to make them safe again for everyone to enjoy. We know that a lot of people have been reaching out, wanting to do their bit and get involved but don’t know where to start, so we thought we’d share just a few of the clean-up events we’re currently aware of.

This is obviously not an extensive list and you’ll need to reach out to the respective organisers as each operation requires different levels of manpower and varying logistics. But we wanted to share this as we know plenty of folks will be wanting to volunteer their time this weekend.

Please note that some of these events may not be kid-friendly and only be suitable for older children, so make sure to contact the organisers for more details. And if you are planning on helping out this weekend – remember to be prepared with sensible clothing, masks, gloves, closed-toe shoes, sun cream and water (in a refillable bottle!).

This Facebook page has also been set up by resourceful Hong Kongers looking to connect clean-up organisers and volunteers throughout HK.
