Don’t sweat it…
Whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer, or adopt more of a “nama-stay-in-bed” mentality, there’s always time to revamp your workout gear! The benefits of working out have been proven time and time again, and now it’s just down to us to pull our weight (literally). We get it, mama: an early morning yoga class or an after work gym session can sometimes feel like the last thing on our to-do list. Especially when manoeuvring a buggy on the MTR whilst balancing a baby on your hip is a workout in itself…
We don’t know about you, but there’s no better incentive for us to hit the gym then when we’re rocking some fresh new styles. Plus, it helps that we’d happily wear this gorgeous gear in AND out of our classes. Hey, that’s where the word “athleisure” comes from, right?
It’s time to recycle those baggy pre-pregnancy leggings, and check out the hottest yoga apparel around…

The stylish and comfortable pieces are extremely affordable and perfect for wearing in the studio and out and about town. We’re loving the Eau Dreamy tank in the white and grey print.
With the motto “constantly inspired, always dreaming, and forever moving,” it’s no surprise we can’t get enough of this brand. Made with high quality, ultra soft, double-sided “moss” fabric, we’re loving the product’s cotton-like feel. This heart-strings sports bra is ideal for lighter workouts like Pilates or Yoga, and recommended for smaller-busted ladies. If you’re looking for more coverage and support, check out their Zenith Zip Bra!
Originating from the West Coast in Canada, Aumnie brings the casual, cool and effortless activewear to the streets of Hong Kong. With monochromatic prints and sexy cut outs, this line is definitely for the mama who likes to make a fashion statement while working up a sweat. We’re swooning over the Competition Pants in black with mesh panels. For mamas-to-be, you’ll be happy to know that the tops and bottoms are perfectly stretchy to expand with your growing bumps as well.
The sister company of our favourites, Zara and Massimo Dutti, Oysho brings comfort, loungewear, lingerie and sportswear to the scene. At reasonable price points and showcasing trendy designs, this is definitely a great spot to peruse all your athleisure needs. They’ve recently opened a store in Times Square, Causeway Bay, making it more accessible for mamas on the HK island. We’re eyeing this Tri-Coloured sports bra with fun straps at the front and the back which adds flair with added support. Perfect.
No matter what your active plans are, Cotton On is an affordable staple and great spot for active gear. Its low prices doesn’t mean shoddy quality either, mamas. From sports bras to jackets, to yoga mats and gym bags – Cotton On has you covered. We’re fans of this multi-coloured high waisted jogging pant.
It’s no secret we’re fans of RUMI X at Sassy HQ (several of us own a few pairs of their extremely stretchy and comfortable leggings!). We’re on board with their eco-friendly philosophy, too – its leggings are made completely from 100% recycled plastic bottles and its tops from coffee grinds! We’re in love with its range of stylish maternity leggings that also grow with your bump and beyond. It has a flexible band that allows you to wear the leggings on top of the bump or below to support. Yes, please!
Style and functionality – two things we mamas demand when it comes to activewear. Flora and Jacqueline, cousins and founders of Gourami, created this line with those two key elements in mind. Made for the fashion forward and active woman, their designs are unique, with bold prints and trims. We’re digging the Trifecta Capri which hits just above the ankle making it perfect for those evening jogs or downward dogs!
Pure Fitness Gyms have popped up all over this city, and it’s no surprise that the apparel section is also hugely popular! With convenient locations all over the city (including IFC Mall), this is an easy store to head to when you’re already out and about.
For an easy, no-fuss (read: no sweat-patch) option, check out the Urban Angel Tee. With loose armholes, side under-sleeve holes, and soft textured fabric, you’re guaranteed to feel your very best. Pair it with the City-Zen Leggings and you’re ready to hit the mat!

We’re way into the Mae Tank in scarlet with it’s flattering empire cut and classic silhouette.
