Don’t sweat it…
Whether you’re a seasoned gym-goer, or adopt more of a “nama-stay-in-bed” mentality, there’s always time to revamp your workout gear! The benefits of working out have been proven time and time again, and now it’s just down to us to pull our weight (literally). We get it: an early morning yoga class or an after work gym session can sometimes feel like the last thing on our to-do list. If you’re needing a little extra incentive to hit the gym then we’ve got some fresh new styles worth trying. Plus, it helps that we’d happily wear this comfortable, chic gear in AND out of our classes. That’s where the word “athleisure” comes from, right?

Rising Lotus is a boutique women’s athleisure label that caters to the active individual. Designed in Hong Kong and crafted from superior fabric and quality materials, you can be sure you’re getting top tier items. The founder, Vivien So, aims for the brand aesthetic to represent Californian casual meets Hong Kong chic. The styles are comfortable and practical. Our favourites are the Mesh Panel Leggings and the Back Cut Out Tank Top (the ideal way to showcase all those strappy new sports bras and bralettes).
This functional, fashionable activewear line combines a love for fitness with all things luxe. The modern classic designs are coupled with contemporary colours to inspire your look and your workout. I’ve worn the Lilly Ro Passion Crop through yoga, spin and hikes, so I can fully vouch for the comfortable fit. If you’re looking for simple singlets, the core collection are easy and lightweight options to throw on before you hit the gym.
Caelum Greene is a lifestyle fashion store, with product categories ranging from Athleisure and Fashion to Home Accessories and Beauty. The store is committed to making active and mindful decisions. From the paper bags and store cards printed on recycled paper, to the energy efficient LED lighting and The Zen Garden in the back of the store, this is a place you can’t help love. We’re serious fans of the Manduka range, designed by yoga instructors. There are options for every sport, body type and style.
If you’re seeking a style that comes with a mindful message, A Day with Fé is for you. Founded by Fé Valvekens (our previous That Mama!), this line consists of clothing that seamlessly blends your everyday wear with yoga wear. The stylish and comfortable pieces are fairly priced and perfect to promote mindful movement. We’re loving the Eau Dreamy tank in the white and grey print, and the Nuit Black sports bra, a classic that you can wear under anything and everything.

This Hong Kong startup offers modern styles and fun digital images. Miss Runner is an activewear label focusing on finding the most elite prints to embrace dynamic looks. The founder, Tania Cheung, often works with local artists to turn their art into wearable fashion. Plus, the fabrics are made to wick away sweat whilst still offering compression elements. Make sure to check out the machine washable yoga mats to go with your new gear! I’ve got my heart set on the Ocean Travel Mat, ideal for when you’re on the go.
If you’re finding yourself reaching for bold prints and bright colours, this is for you. From quirky shorts to comfy tanks, there are plenty of options to choose from here. Our favourites have got to be the statement tops – featuring quotes like “Inhale, Exhale”, “Raise the Vibe” and “Salty Hair Don’t Care”. Oh, and if you’re shopping for your little one, Liquido stocks a MiniMe range that parents and kids are guaranteed to adore.
It’s no secret we’re fans of RUMI X at Sassy HQ. We’re fully on board with its eco-friendly philosophy – with leggings made entirely from 100% recycled plastic bottles and tops from coffee grinds. It’s exciting to see more fashion brands taking a sustainable approach to style. The matching Seek Sports Bra and leggings are the right mix of statement and simplicity. And, if you’re a mama to be, make sure to check out the comfortable maternity leggings that promise to grow with your bump and beyond! It has a flexible band that allows you to wear the leggings on top of the bump or below, depending what type of support your sport requires.

These Compression 3/4 Tights are great for high impact workouts. Engineered with powerful PWX FLEX fabric, the leggings are breathable and lightweight, whilst working to support upper leg muscles. The powerful compression wrap is actually aimed to protect key leg muscles, and help prevent muscle fatigue and soreness. Sounds pretty good to us!
As the sister company of Zara and Massimo Dutti, Oysho brings comfort, loungewear, lingerie and sportswear to the scene. With cosy and comfy designs, this is a great spot to stock up on easy athleisure. With a store in Times Square and Festival Walk, it’s easily accessible for shoppers on the Island and Kowloon. We’re eyeing the Dark Floral Sports Bra, matching Dark Floral Leggings and warm peach Oversized Sweatshirt.
No matter what your active routine is, Cotton On is an affordable spot for staple items and basic gear. The low prices doesn’t (necessarily) mean poor quality either! From sports bras to jackets, to yoga mats and gym bags – Cotton On has you covered.
If you’re concerned about quality, check the inside label for the material and opt for items that use natural, breathable and lightweight fibres (like cotton!) over synthetics with unnecessary padding and elastic. We’re fans of this Strappy Back Tank Top, for a relaxed fit and casual feel. It’s also worth keeping an eye out for inventive accessories, like the absorbent Active Zip Towel, which comes with a little pocket for your gym keys and the necklace you forgot to take off.
Pure Fitness Gyms have popped up all over this city, and it’s no surprise that the apparel is equally as popular! With convenient locations all over the city, this is an easy store to head to when you’re already out and about. For cooler weather (or when you’re in and out of air-conditioned trains), check out the Own Moves French Terry Jacket. With a shaped silhouette and sleek lines, it offers a classier upgrade to your usual hoodie, without sacrificing on the comfort factor. If you’re running around town and looking for another throw-over, the Side Zip Jumper is another favourite. And, don’t forget to make the most of the sale section before you hit the mat!

The flattering empire cut keeps a classic silhouette, whilst the breathable, lightweight material offers a 4- way stretch.
With the motto “constantly inspired, always dreaming, and forever moving,” it’s no surprise we can’t get enough of this brand. Made with high quality, ultra soft, double-sided “moss” fabric, we love the product’s cotton-like feel. This heart-strings sports bra is ideal for lighter workouts like Pilates or Yoga, but if you’re looking for more coverage and support, check out the Zenith Zip Bra.
