Cinderella Musical Performance – the panto

The show is set to be an all dancing, singing musical extravaganza for families. Using the classic Cinderella story the Hong Kong Players are adding some fun to the plot. There will be some new twists, including a circus setting, fantastic music and a script that’s chock-full of jokes old and new. Join in the fun and cheer for the goodies, boo the baddies and have and all-rounded raucous time panto-style.

Christmas panto is a traditional family show suitable for anyone from 3 up. The humour is designed to appeal on two levels – one for the kids and another for the adults! Hong Kong Players is a community theatre group that’s been running for more than 100 years in Hong Kong, providing a traditional Christmas panto for 55 of those years. They are a non-profit-making group – all proceeds goes back into the next community theatre production.

The venue this year is a special one indeed. Underbelly is coming to Hong Kong from the UK to house shows on the Central Harbor Front. Underbelly is an iconic venue, it is a portable theater shaped as an upside-down purple cow. The Panto will be the first act of a three-month long festival!
