Baumhaus is expanding!

Following its success in Wan Chai, this top-ranked creative arts centre just became more accessible…Calling all Kowloon mamas! This December, Baumhaus, home to Hong Kong’s #1 Kindermusik program is opening their second centre in Harbour City, TST!

Baumhaus: the perfect space to learn, share, collaborate and grow, bring the family together and make new friends! If you haven’t heard of Baumhaus before, it’s time you and the kids hop on their creative arts train! (Yep, it’s not just for the little ones.)

Created for 0-6 year olds, Baumhaus is named after the carefully crafted birch wood treehouses that you’ll find in each centre. Baumhaus is all about educating, uplifting and inspiring children of today to be mindful and creative citizens for tomorrow… and all in a quality, open play space for the family, complete with a Coffee Lounge.

Meet Baumhaus cofounder, professional performing artist and creative educator Crisel Consunji. With experience across musical theatre, educational media, family entertainment and drama teaching, Crisel has done it all: from performing on international stages as a Walt Disney Company lead vocalist, to developing creative arts curricula.

Creative arts professionals and educators make up the rest of the Baumhaus team, with backgrounds ranging from performing arts and behavioural sciences, to healthcare and social work. This means engaging and entertaining class designs that’ll keep you coming back for more!

Crisel is also Kindermusik’s International Area Developer in Asia, a program which we’re huge fans of at Sassy Mama; one of the world’s most trusted early childhood music and movement programs, Kindermusik uses music to promote holistic development across language, literacy, math, cognition, socio-emotional and physical skills. Set in a play-based environment, Kindermusik addresses developmental milestones and nurtures the bond between you and your little one.

Budding actors and actresses will have a ball at DramaLab, a holistic creative arts program that empowers individuals by supporting their artistic growth while building real life-skills. Especially beneficial for young children, DramaLab provides the opportunity to develop a passion for performing arts – or simply build confidence – through storytelling, as well as collaborative and interactive exercises.

Did we also mention that Baumhaus is also an excellent venue for birthday parties? Sassy Mama Editor, Kat held her daughter’s first birthday there and it was definitely one to remember. From the space to the music class that comes with the birthday package, all you’ll need to bring is yourself.

So if you’re familiar with the great work of Baumhaus in Wan Chai, spread the word to your Kowloon friends, mamas! And if you’re based in Kowloon and haven’t been to Baumhaus before, there’s no ferry/MTR commute stopping you now! Head on over to Baumhaus, try out a Kindermusik or DramaLab class with your little one, and see for yourself what all the excitement is about.

We've been looking for clever ways for the whole family to eat more veggies.... purple pasta might do the trick! ⠀
Insta-Worthy Sweet Potato Pasta 💜
1 cup of purple sweet potato, or orange (which is easier to work with texture wise i find) steamed or roasted ⠀⠀
1-1 1/2 cup of unsweetened plant milk (but we'll use regular)⠀⠀
1 clove of roasted garlic ⠀⠀
1-2 tablespoon nutritional yeast flakes ⠀
1 tablespoon of olive oil or vegan butter ⠀
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice ⠀⠀
1 teaspoon smoked paprika ⠀⠀
pinch of sea salt (to taste) ⠀⠀
pinch of black pepper (to taste) ⠀⠀
Blend all your ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth, adjusting the thickness to your liking by adding less or more (plant) milk. Adjust seasonings to your preference also, and serve over freshly cooked pasta. This sauce is best enjoyed right away, as it can clump and change in texture after being refrigerated.⠀⠀
