UNHCR Hong Kong is bringing back the Charity Refugee Film Festival (for the tenth time!) to celebrate World Refugee Day and to raise public awareness and to increase donations in support of refugee situations. Proceeds made from ticket sales will go directly towards UNHCR’s “Nobody Left Outside” campaign. It is a cause very much worth supporting, as the money could help provide a mattress or temporary shelter for a family of five.
The three documentaries in the Film Festival will show the lives of refugees and the struggles they face daily. World Refugee Day is observed on 20 June every year to recognise and honour those who are forced to flee from their homes because they face the threat of persecution.
The three documentaries being shown are Cast from the Storm, Life on the Border and Welcome to Refugeestan. Check the UNHCR website for more details on viewing times.
