To provide a holistic education, Malvern College Hong Kong will include a multitude of cutting-edge co-curricula and rich after-school programmes; including a mandatory chess programme to develop higher-order thinking. Chess contributes to five types of thinking: effective, critical, spatial, social and creative. Partnering with Caissa Hong Kong Chess Club, this workshop aims to give prospective parents insights on how chess can positively contribute to various cognitive and mental abilities, as well as help with character building and establishing social relationships across age, gender, religion, and economic strata.
