A night of feasting and fundraising, two things a mama can always get on board with – especially when it’s being held by Le Garçon Saigon’s Head Chef Bao La and his mother, Chef Chieu Thi Le. Yup, this wonderful woman is the inspiration behind the Saigonese grillhouse (you’re right, behind every successful chef is a busily cooking mama!).
So grab your friends for this family-style charity banquet, and experience KOTO’s talented students themselves demonstrating skills behind the bar and in the kitchen! From summer cocktails and hearty grilled plates, to a silent auction (with donations from Peninsula Hotel, Black Sheep Restaurants, and more!), this is an event we know we’ll enjoy supporting!

This one-night only event will support The KOTO Foundation, a charity that teaches disadvantaged Vietnamese youth to support themselves and their community through hospitality training. KOTO has trained over 1,000 Vietnamese youths, taking them away from risky situations by providing them an escape from poverty through a two-year programme. Offering education, clothing, housing, food, and vaccinations, KOTO’s mission leads to a combination of professional and personal courses.
For Chefs Bao and Chieu, KOTO is more than a charity, it is a way to shape the futures of Vietnam’s most vulnerable children. “I first heard of KOTO when I was young, and have long wanted to align with and support their cause,” says the young chef.
