If you missed out on tickets for the stadium, make sure you head to the harbourfront!

April is now only a week away, which means it’s almost time for The Hong Kong Sevens to roll into town! Every year thousands of costume-clad Hong Kongers head to Causeway Bay for a piece of the action. If your days of partying in the South Stand are behind you and you’re looking for a more family-friendly (and free!) way to soak up the atmosphere, then the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens Festival at Central Harbourfront could be the answer!

Taking place all weekend long from Friday, 5 April to Sunday, 7 April, this year’s Sevens Central is going above and beyond to ensure the festivities are the best yet. In case you haven’t already heard, the one and only Gwen Stefani is flying in to make sure the celebrations get off to a good start. The three-time GRAMMY® Award winner and global icon will perform a one-off show on Friday, 5 April, to kick-start the weekend’s jam-packed entertainment programme. Tickets are on sale now for $780, so make sure you get in early to avoid disappointment!

The Sevens is all about the rugby, but with stadium tickets in high demand we’re always looking for alternative ways to get in on the action. That’s where Sevens Central comes into its own. The harbourfront setting provides the perfect venue for the whole family to catch all the action from the pitch, with the games beamed live onto the big screens over the two-day event. Did we mention there’s free entry all day on Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 April, from 12pm to 8pm? There will also be plenty of entertainment to keep kids of all ages happy, including jugglers, face painters, stilt-walkers and dinosaurs. Plus don’t forget to keep an eye out for “Where’s Wally?” Throw in some live music from tribute acts performing hits from Pink, Queen, Oasis and The Rolling Stones (plus happy hour drinks prices all day!), and you can safely say there will be something for everyone!

When: Gates open at 5pm on Friday, 5 April; gates open from 12pm to 8pm on Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 April
Where: Central Harbourfront Event Space, 9 Lung Wo Road, Central, Hong Kong
How much: $780 for Gwen Stefani’s performance on Friday, 5 April – get your tickets here. Free entry to Sevens Central on Saturday, 6 and Sunday, 7 April.
