Tiny Bites: HK’s First Happy Hour for Kids at Linguini Fini

Tiny Bites - Linguini Fini Kids Happy Hour

You heard us right, mamas, our tiny tykes can finally have their own happy hour!

We’re not talking about kiddie cocktails though… we’re talking about cheese and carbs. The main food group for any kid. But let’s be honest, it’s what we crave too! One of our favourite Italian restaurants, Linguini Fini has launched their happy hour for kids and we could not be happier.

From Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) from 4 – 7 pm, kids eat for free from the kid’s menu when an accompanying adult orders from the a la carte menu.

Aiden and I had to give this a try, since we love Italian food and we were due for another mama and son date. One afternoon after school, I took A for an early dinner and arrived at 5pm before the usual after work hours and dinner rush. A total score for us as we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves (definitely a rarity as Linguini Fini is always packed!).

mozzarella sticks with tomato sauce

Right off the bat, Aiden knew he wanted to get the “crunchy cheese” aka the Fried Mozzarella Sticks with Tomato Sauce. Good choice, bud! How could you go wrong with fried cheese?! The kid’s portion came with two mozza sticks that were battered and fried to perfection. Super crunchy on the outside and ooey gooey on the inside. The right amount of crunch to stringy cheese ratio. Dunked into the sweet and tart tomato sauce helped cut through the heaviness of the starter.

Other options on the menu include a classic Mac & Cheese (with a hot dog or their homemade chicken nuggets!), Tomato Soup with Mini Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (for dipping!), and Fish Fingers to name a few.

cheese pizza with pizza dough

Aiden chose the Cheese Pizza by the Slice that came with a side portion of “play dough” aka pizza dough. As they were preparing his slice, one of the friendly waiters came to the table with a sizeable portion of pizza dough which was a huge hit with Aiden. There was a lot of pulling, stretching and burying his toy dinosaurs into the dough which kept my little guy occupied while my main arrived… woohoo!

spaghetti aglio e olio

I’m a creature of habit so I ordered an absolute classic, Spaghetti Aglio e Olio. I received a heaping portion of piping hot spaghetti that was smothered in parmesan, garlic, oil and chili flakes. I definitely like things hot, so added more chili flakes just to my liking. I also like things cheesy and the lovely waiter kept the parm flowing… huzzah!

vanilla ice cream

Like mother, like son, Aiden asked for extra parm on his cheese pizza too. It’s safe to say he got his daily intake of calcium that day after his mozza sticks and cheese pizza with extra cheese!

We had a great time and will definitely go back for another mama and son date during happy hour at Linguini Fini!
