This week Sassy Mama Style Blogger Katie brings you glorious shoes in the Kong, custom-made but at affordable prices. Trotters at the ready, Ladies!
Jimmy’s Shoes
Top of the shoe charts is Jimmy at Lime Shoes who can custom make shoes in as little as 10 days, materials permitting of course, and the cost is reasonable from HK600 up. Lime is a small shop in East TST packed with shoes a little higgledy piggledy at first glance so you could choose to walk straight by but you would be missing a real treat. Now we can all have a pair of Jimmy’s and judging from a recent article in the UK press these will last longer than your average Jimmy Choo’s.
I’ve gone a bit stud crazy recently and these are an example of Jimmy’s fine work.
And for my next trick, I’m currently having these copied in the leopard skin below and just for good measure I’m also having them done in a nude patent, paying homage to the lovely Kate Middleton whose LK Bennett version sold out in a matter of days. Ok, I can hear myself saying, “Enough already Imelda!”
Jimmy can also turn his hand to men’s shoes and is currently making a pair of city brogues for my husband and a tiny weeny pair of UK size 1.5s for my husband’s Gran who can only normally buy children’s shoes in the UK. You’ve gotta spread the shoe love.

Edwina Shoes & Handbags
A friend of mine recently had a pair of shoes custom made for a wedding at Edwina Shoes & Handbags in the Admiralty Centre. Again, they say that shoes can be made in 10 days and these cost her HK795. Time-wise you might want to give yourself a little longer as the first pair they made did not fit properly, however they made a second pair free of charge, which went down a storm and most importantly fitted like a glove and were comfortable to wear all day long.Edwina Shoes & Handbags, shop 36, 1/F, Tower One, Admiralty Centre, 18 Harcourt Road, Admiralty, 2866 7183

DYOS
DYOS or Design Your Own Shoes can be found just a stone’s throw from Times Square in Causeway Bay. As with the other places above you can choose straight from the shelf and tweak to your liking in a different colour, heel or material or you can completely design your own shoe from scratch. This shop was easy on the eye, even with a vintage wardrobe packed with shoes and a chandelier! And we do love a chandelier. But looks aside, they also have a good rep for producing fine shoes. Another friend of mine has decided to have her actual wedding shoes made here. Prices start from HK600 and depending on how much embellishment you want you could end up near the HK2000 mark but we’re talking a lot of bling to hit this price! DYOS need a little longer than the others above to create your shoes of glory, normally 6–8 weeks.
“And when the ladies saw them they were SORE AMAZED and instantly they knew they HAD to HAVE THEM”*

Vickies
An oldie but a goodie! Vickies has been around for a number of years allowing us ladies with the bigger foot joy and comfort at a price we can afford. Custom made shoes take approximately 6 weeks. However, if you find a style you like in the shop they do carry stock so you can buy there and then. These gladiator style sandals caught my eye and are available now for HK399.
