Ice Skating and Shopping in Hong Kong, a Perfect Combination

Parties & PlayPost Category - Parties & PlayParties & Play - Post Category - IndoorIndoor

Hong Kong certainly has no lack of shopping malls, and especially in the hot, hazy summer months I find myself spending an inordinate amount of time walking around in them. I’ve found a great way to combine my need to cool down with my need to satisfy retail cravings in Taikoo Shing at the Cityplaza Mall.  This particular location boasts an ice skating rink, and it’s a fantastic place to beat the heat. Located on the first floor, the venue is open year-round, and rents skates for children from age 2 on up to adults.

Even when I don’t take to the ice myself, it’s a beautiful set-up: While my daughter is enrolled in a private skating lesson through the Skate School, I can sit above the rink and observe her while basking in the cold. Or another option…head down the hall to Pedder Red for some new shoes, across the walkway to Burberry or DKNY, or sit and have a latte at the caffe Habitu. Cityplaza also always seems to have some sort of art exhibit or musical performance going on, which the entire family can enjoy.

So the next time you find yourself at a loss for what to do, and the heat has become unbearable, head over to Cityplaza Mall for some S&S – skating and shopping!
