With each divine dress names after a girl’s name, Velveteen’s darling collection will make you drool. Rose gold and blush pink are certainly a favourite of mine this season and this sequinned Veronica dress ($1,015) has me wishing they didn’t stop at children’s sizes! The Miranda ($730) sleeveless dress in Rose Gold Lurex with pleating at the neck finish, swinging silhouette, oversized faux (phew!) shoulder bow ties and a button placket closure at back is a gorgeous addition to any girls wardrobe (available for kids aged 2 – 14 years old).
Velveteen, available online at www.velveteenclothing.com or find the collection at Petite Bazaar on Queen’s Road and Gough Street.
China Doll Kids puts a modern twist on the traditional qipaos for girls aged 2 to 10 years old. The dresses are tailored out of leftover fabrics from various designer houses – brocade silks and a hand-sewn, hand-beaded mandarin collar completes the look. The result is a whimsical mix of East and West. Retailing from $1,480, China Doll Kids is available at Partytime in Times Square, Causeway Bay and Princes Building, Central.

Every girl needs a little black dress in their wardrobe, and what better than a Bonpoint number? Rich in the savoir-faire of a couture house, thanks to its artisan studio in Paris, Bonpoint has created an exquisite collection for this Fall/Winter and the Black Flavie ($2,830) dress in velvet with lace collar exudes timeless sophistication. Though it’s on the pricy side, we like to think of this as an “investment” piece worth passing on to younger siblings or friends with growing little ones.
