7x Smarter Playroom Opens in Wanchai

The brand new 7x Smarter Playroom on Queens Road East, Wanchai, is actually the reincarnation of now-sadly-closed Little Beetles, which used to be my local lifesaver in Hopewell Centre. While it’s smaller than Little Beetles was, it is packed full of fun, with a fabulous selection of lovely toys that will appeal to the under-5 crowd. Books line the walls, and wooden toys that encourage creative play abound. Your little one can shop, cook dinner, clean up, take a baby for a walk or work in an ice cream parlour, all without leaving the comfort of air conditioning. It’s going to be a hit for mamas looking to escape the summer heat!

As well as free-play sessions, 7xSmarter run themed playgroups for 2-3 year olds and 3-6 year olds in the afternoons, and sometimes host little birthday parties, so it’s best to call before you head over there to make sure they’ll be open to accommodate you. There is a bathroom and changing table in an en-suite bathroom, so everything is super-easy and convenient.

Free-play sessions cost from $50 for 30 minutes or $100 for 60 minutes, or you can buy a pass for 25 hours which is valid for 60 days from purchase.

Sassy Mama Tip: There are a few steps into the building, and again when you get out of the elevator, so if you can avoid bringing a stroller, it’s probably best.
