The Carnival of the Year!
In case you haven’t yet heard: The AIA Great European Carnival is back! We’ve always been thankful for this winter wonderland that pops up in Hong Kong, letting us make the most of the weather with some outdoor time. With plenty of festival food (candy-floss, popcorn and hotdogs included), incredible rides and opportunities to win fab prizes, this is one event you definitely won’t want to miss.
For the third year in a row, it’s set against the gorgeous backdrop of our city’s skyline, with a jungle gym area, Dumbo and Teacup rides for the tiny tots and big thrill rides (like the 60-miles-per-hour MACH5) for the big kids. We’ve had a chance to check it our for ourselves and can vouch that there’s something for the whole family. Plus, since it’s open until Sunday, 12 February 2017, you can even check it out over the Chinese New Year break.
This year, The AIA Carnival is bringing back our favourite rides from all over Europe, plus plenty of new ones to try, so there really is something that every age range can engage in (mamas and papas included). The games give the competitive spirit of Hong Kong a boost with over 1,000,000 toys up for grabs. They’ve got everything from Marvel, Sesame Street and Super Mario, to Minions, Peppa Pig and all-new Trolls characters. We even hear a cheeky rumour that it’s a little easier to win prizes this year – hooray!
On the hunt for family photo opportunities? Between the ‘Magic World’ 3D Disney Photo booth, the Henry Chipperfield Jungle gym, and Hong Kong’s ONLY outdoor ice skating rink, there’ll be plenty of chances for you to snap away! Plus, the littles can even grab a shot with the vikings, pirates and wild animal characters setting the scene.
As a special bonus for our Sassy Mama Readers, The AIA Great European Carnival is offering 3 lucky mamas a FULL family package. This includes: 2 x Adult tickets (with HK$100 worth of tokens) and 2 x Kids tickets (with HK$70 worth of tokens). Simply enter your details in the form below for your chance to win!
With fun-loving street artists back to entertain guests, and plenty of stage activities (including ballet, choirs, puppets, magicians, DJs and musical performances), you could spend hours and hours entertained. There is even a special baby changing area and breastfeeding rooms for mums. Oh, and with the centralised food court offering a sumptuous array of European and Asian food, you’ll have no real reason to leave… The whole family can spend the day eating, laughing, playing and hopping on rides!
