Instant Goddess: All about daytime looks!

Style & BeautyPost Category - Style & BeautyStyle & Beauty - Post Category - Style For YouStyle For You

So, January is almost over…hallelujah! After all the frivolity and sparkle of December, and then the early detox and self-denial of tedious January… this week’s blog has to be all about daytime looks because God forbid that we should ever want to go out again!

So this is what landed on the Instant Goddess shopping radar this week… credit card space permitting of course after all the expenses from the holiday season!

Daytime looks

Collage 1Top left: Grey bomber jacket reduced to $197 worn with black cigarette pants $378, both ASOS; top right Orange and grey slouch bag (it’s reversible too!) approx. $875 from River Island; bottom left Whistles Cornel heeled court shoes $2,121 from ASOS and bottom right: Aztec print collarless jacket approx. $875 from River Island

Collage 2Left: Warehouse floral woven front top $454 and right: Oasis shadow butterfly jumper $575 both available on ASOS

These fab tops will also work well with the cigarette pants above and hey presto you can go from day to night in a flash with the blue Cornel heels above.

Top left: Lulu stripe jersey jacket approx. $690; top right Daphne lace top approx $526, both Monsoon; bottom left Navy quilted cross body bag approx. $210, River Island and bottom right Striped tunic dress from Marks and Spencer approx. $579

Nautical stripes are always a good way to inject spring-like freshness into a weary winter wardrobe… and Instant Goddess is loving the easy daytime looks above from Monsoon and Marks and Spencer.

Floral Fun
For that special occasion, the eye catching floral print prom dress below is certainly worth stashing in the wardrobe for fun days to come. Tough it up with the blue leather and suede bomber jacket below.

Collage 4Left: Floral full prom skater dress by Chi Chi London $879; top right Biker jacket in blue suede and leather $1,969 and Whistles silver crackle point toe heeled mule shoes $2,425 – both ASOS

The Return of the Kaftan
Because summer WILL be here again and because we WILL be going on holiday again one day soon…it’s always worth having a kaftan or two on standby. The kaftans below from Monsoon are definitely worth snapping up.

Collage 5Top left: Anya kaftan dress approx. $806; top right WOW Azure Tote Bag approx. $420; bottom left: Lara Leaf Sandals approx. $410 and bottom right: Koko kaftan dress approx. $806

Shoe of the Week
If these Ennis shoes by Miss KG from Kurt Geiger are the shoe of the week then the tasselled trousers have to be the trousers of the week! Alas, the tasselled numbers are yet to hit House of Fraser stores but keep ‘em peeled as they say and you should be able to click and go before you know it.

Collage 6Top left: Ennis shoes by Miss KG approx. $1,001, right Tasselled trousers approx. $813 by Biba at House of Fraser and bottom left Orange leather look biker jacket $707 by River Island

Midweek Meal Inspiration

So this week in the Instant Goddess household I’m afraid to say that despite our best efforts of shunning Dry January we have just this week succumbed to The Red Carpet Detox by Lily Simpson of the Detox Kitchen, recently serialised in The Sunday Times. Well after all, Oscars season is almost upon us and an Instant Goddess should always be in top shape for the Red Carpet… you never know when you might be called on!

What I’m loving about this Detox is that you can actually eat on it! And I’m also loving the recipes that introduce tasty fruit and veg combos, including pizza crust made from cauliflower. Yes, you do cut out alcohol (eeek!), wheat and dairy but it’s only for 3 weeks and if you do stick to it you should see marked improvements in your skin, energy levels and weight loss… some people have seen up to 5lbs a week! Weight loss aside, you just feel healthier for incorporating so much more fruit and veg in your daily diet. You also get a mid-morning snack (juice) and then usually fruits and nuts in the afternoon. So go out, buy yourself a juicer (easily cheaper than the price of most juice cleanses in Hong Kong) and get on the Red Carpet Detox!

For more recipes, check out the recipe section on the Detox Kitchen.

For the 3-week detox recipes hop over to the Sunday Times.

Yogi tea saying of the week:Together the small moments become your life; don’t let them pass you by”.

Instant Goddess saying of the week: “Pass the cauliflower, beetroot, oranges, apples and pears!”.

Until next time Goddesses and remember you are ALWAYS, ALWAYS worth it XX
