We’re nosy parkers here at Sassy Mama, and like nothing better than peeping into someone else’s wardrobe, so an idea for a brand-new feature was born: My Mama Wardrobe. Our first victim mama is Emma V, an Irish expat living in Switzerland who is a busy mama of three (with no help) yet somehow always manages to look fresh and put together. We want to find out her secret!

What is a typical day in your life like?
I spend from 8am to 8pm looking after my 3 kids. One 4 1/2 year old boy and twins (a girl and a boy) aged 2. So, generally my typical day is crazy!

What is your go-to style/uniform?
I like long tops, skinny jeans or shorts and the layered look. At the moment I’m really into accessorizing with belts. I like the skinny ones that can wrap around a couple of times. It also depends on the seasons. I tend to be much more adventurous with accessories in the spring and summer months.

What always makes you feel good when you wear it?
The colour white, because I find it so fresh and clean. There is nothing I like more than a new white top. Even though people always say it’s difficult to wear white around kids, I find stains show up more on darker colours. Oh, and heels when I get the rare opportunity.

How do you dress in the evening versus the daytime?
I tend to just accessorize more and wear nicer shoes. I like BCBG for glamourous evening wear, and also Septième étage.

How has being a mama changed your personal style?
Now I’m a mum I wear flats and jeans more often but I feel my style has improved or maybe the casual style suits me more.

Where do you shop for clothes?
I bought a few things online from French Connection this year. Since I moved to the outskirts of Geneva I have little time for window shopping. French Connection had some lovely styles this summer and I also find their clothes fit well. In terms of other high street stores, the only ones I can really afford to shop in are the usual suspects: Zara, H&M, Comptoirs des Cotonniers and Dune.

If you could change one thing about your wardrobe/style, what would it be?
Nicer underwear!

What are you always searching for?
Tops that I can wear around the kids that look nice but not too dressy.
