Now there’s no excuse not to make a dinner reservation!
11 Westside — Romantic mood lighting and top quality tacos
Headed by Mexican native on Netflix’s cooking show The Final Table, Chef Esdras Ochoa, 11 Westside is a unique space for you and your partner’s Mexican food cravings. Expect gorgeous cocktails or Champagne to go with your savoury meals! We like the dimly lit space that makes it more cosy and laid-back. Plus, if you love a good deal, book ahead for Taco Tuesday where the tacos are all half-priced.
What Sassy Mama loves: “I love the tableside guacamole (the tacos and margaritas are excellent too), the music they play (hip hop) and the general vibe of the restaurant.” – Maura Thompson (Co-Founder, Sassy Media Group)
aqua — Sweeping city views and an intimate dining experience
A stunning and sophisticated restaurant located in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, aqua is a popular choice amongst couples looking for date night spots. The romantic ambience, friendly service and unique Italian-Japanese fusion have patrons coming back! We definitely recommend calling ahead and to book a table that’s close to the window to get the best view of the harbour.
What Sassy Mama loves: “Stunning food, service and spectacular views. It never disappoints. Thoughtful touches like intimate mood lighting go a long way as well” – Jess Mizzi (Senior Editor, Sassy Mama Hong Kong)
CHAAT – Romantic restaurant perfect for special occasions
Michelin one-star restaurant, CHAAT has couples booking ahead (when a restaurant is always booked, you know it’s a crowd pleaser) for its authentic Indian flavours and elevated and modern setting. You can trust CHAAT (or any of the Rosewood’s romantic restaurants, really) to have your special occasion taken care of; be it an anniversary, birthday or a just because type of night date. The sheer opulence of every dish will spoil you and we recommend going for the tasting menu to get a bite of all the signatures.
Foxglove – Live jazz, delicious dim sum and a classy bar
If you and your beau want to take it old school – we’re talking throwing it back to the golden year with live jazz, plush velvet chairs and pizzazz – Foxglove (though is a go-to bar for those looking to escape the Central crowd) serves refreshing and innovative dim-sum during the day. Who says romance is for night time only?
What Sassy Mama loves: “This is a lovely speakeasy masked as an umbrella shop. There are live jazz performances, great ambience and tasty cocktails. The venue turns into a bar setting post 9pm but, earlier in the night, offers great food.” – Emily Chu (Partnerships Manager, Sassy and Sassy Mama Hong Kong)
Mono – Fine dining restaurant for date night
This intimate restaurant is a personal favourite of ours and it sure is a window into refined Latin American gastronomic culture. With respect to tradition and a focus on staple South American produce, not to mention the amazing service, this fine dining romantic restaurant on Hong Kong Island maintains a relaxed atmosphere as you savour the innovative dishes.
What Sassy Mama loves: “The sourdough is a must try! It’s as old as the restaurant itself – made fresh daily using its starter and it’s honestly the best sourdough in town (for all the bread lovers!)” – Fashila Kanakka (Associate Editor, Sassy and Sassy Mama Hong Kong)
Mott 32 – A must-go romantic and intimate restaurant serving Cantonese classics
There are one too many elements that have us smitten the minute we step foot in Mott 32, be it the stunning interior design that seamlessly blends the lofty New York industrial style with Hong Kong opulence or the signature Peking duck which is the name of the game here. The variety of Cantonese dishes and tea-infused cocktails make this one of the most romantic restaurants in Hong Kong, where you and your partner will fall in love with local cuisine (and each other!) all over again.
Popinjays – Wide range of dining options with private dining rooms available
A rooftop bar and contemporary restaurant in one, Popinjays is for the city lovers who want a closer look into the 852’s glimmering buildings. You can book a semi-buffet lunch for weekdays, a flamboyant afternoon tea, exquisite dinner menus in the evening or seafood brunch on weekends. If you want some added privacy for just the two of you, book a private dining room!
Salisterra – Grand, romantic restaurant with sharing plates
The grand chandelier may be taking the centre stage at Salisterra but wait till you get a taste of its Italian and French cuisine. At this romantic restaurant, the dishes are designed for sharing – adding an extra touch of intimacy – and the open kitchen keeps the whole dining experience more engaging.
Sevva – A trendy restaurant with an alfresco rooftop for special occasions
Refinement and sophistication are what SEVVA is recognised for. If you and your partner have a love for all cuisines, SEVVA brings the world to its plate (and your palates!). Plus, ordering a fancy cocktail (or mocktail) is a must!
What Sassy Mama loves: “My husband took me here for my 30th (a few moons ago!). It’s ideal for very special occasions. It has great views, which make you appreciate Hong Kong. The food is awesome and the service top-notch.” – Alex Purcell Garcia (Editor, Sassy Mama Hong Kong)

Tosca di Angelo – Opulent fine dining with fine wines for extra romance
There’s nothing quite romantic like dining above the clouds, and pair that with a high-ceiling, grand chandelier, a water fountain inside the restaurant and plush burgundy armchairs! Embark on a gastronomic journey where Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, seasonal ingredients sourced from Italy and fine wines are brought together – that ticks everything off for a romantic date night spot, especially when celebrating a special occasion.
