Sassy Scoop: Enhance your child’s language skills at the all-new German Swiss International School Kindergarten campus in Sai Kung

Parties & PlayPost Category - Parties & PlayParties & Play

We all know that the earlier children are exposed to languages, the better; and that here in Hong Kong, our littlies are lucky to be able to choose to learn from a whole load of lingos to learn. So New Territories mamas will no doubt be excited to hear about the brand new GSIS campus opening in Sai Kung, offering Kindergarten and Playgroup classes for tots from 0-5 years.

With an emphasis on multilingualism and exploring language in a creative way, the GSIS Kindergarten programme for kids from 2.8 years up encourages learning and development through group play, and focuses on all facets of the child’s development – be it social, emotional, creative, cognitive, linguistic or motor skills. The classes are for 5 hours in the morning from Monday to Friday, and the bilingual programme aims to get kids conversing in both German and English right from the start.

In addition, there are three playgroups on offer for little learners from newborn to 5 years; offering both bilingual German and English, and also German-only sessions every weekday from 3-4:30pm.

Kunterbunt, on Monday and Wednesday is a play-based drop-off session for little ones from 2.8 to 5 years, teaching German culture and language via music, dance, stories, finger play and crafts, and promoting social and linguistic skills.

Tuesday and Thursday’s bilingual Smiling Faces session for tots from newborn to 2.8 year-olds provides sensory building activities in a caring and sharing group environment – the perfect preparation for the transition to Kindy!

Little Dolphins drop-off sessions run on Fridays, and offer a bilingual music and motion programme for toddlers from 2.8 to 5 years that takes children on a musical journey around the world, educating and empowering them.

To introduce the all-new GSIS campus and staff, you’re invited to an Open House Day on 6 November 2013! You and your child can meet the school’s teachers and playgroup leaders and learn more about the programmes on offer through activities and presentations on the day. Open house sessions run from 9am-12pm and 2-4pm, and for more information and to reserve your spot, email Ms Petra Loho at [email protected].
