Application & Deadline
The ESF system places children in Year Group according to their date of birth (1 January – 31 December). Children usually start Year 1 during the calendar year in which they turn 5. Children are never admitted early.
Applications for entry are made through the Online Admission System (OAS) accessed via the Renaissance College website (www.rchk.edu.hk). For Year 1, application is made during a strictly limited period, September 1 to 30 of the year before they enter school. Dual or multiple applications are permitted, families may apply to both ESF and Private Independent Schools.
Renaissance College has no catchment area: any student residing in Hong Kong can apply to attend. Nomination Rights provide a fast track route for children into Renaissance College, providing they meet the entry requirements. Please refer to details here: www.renaissance.edu.hk/content/nomination-rights
Students applying for admissions to Renaissance College take age-appropriate writing and reading assessments (except for Year One) to demonstrate that they are capable of engaging with RCHK's English medium IB curriculum.
In addition, secondary school applicants will attend an individual interview. This interview is designed to explore each student’s potential for learning and their ability to engage with the IB MYP and Diploma curriculum.
Applicants’ academic background, previous school reports and supporting documents will also be taken into consideration. Applicants must be able to demonstrate behavioural responsibility and the principles of good citizenship.
Applicants who pass the assessment/interview will be offered a place or be placed on the waiting list if the vacancies are not available immediately.
