Getting Recharged In Bali

Bali Revivo getaway

A wellness retreat getaway for an exhausted mum

Living and raising children in Hong Kong is no easy task, with hectic schedules and small apartments it’s no wonder we’re all searching for our “inner peace”. When the offer for a quick getaway to Bali came along, I didn’t hesitate for a second, desperately needing some guilt free #metime away from the kids.

I visited REVĪVŌ, a new luxury wellness resort located in the breezy hills of Nusa Dua. The lush surroundings were an absolute delight to the senses from the moment I arrived (the journey sans temper tantrums or any whining also definitely helped!). REVĪVŌ means “I’ll live again” and the team offer wellness journeys that focus on “soothing the spirit and rejuvenating the body”. With programmes that range from three to 14 days that include multiple spa treatments (yes…you read that right!), personalised nutrition plans, and fitness activities – this was the ultimate solo mama getaway for me! You can choose the right plan for you; “Detox and Organic Weight Loss”, “Sleep Well”, (which mama doesn’t need that one?), “De-stress and Relax” amongst many others – there’s even a special programme for mothers-to-be.

I love fitness, I try very hard to prioritise exercise in my life but that’s hard when I’m balancing work and running around after two little boys. The resort consists of 16 Balinese style suites including two 4-bedroom villas that would also be perfect for girls getaway. The hybrid fitness area is 8,000 square meters and includes a yoga barn, a martial arts hall, a Reformer Pilates studio and much more! There is an activity for everyone at all levels with a perfect balance between intensive HIIT sessions and more gentle activities such as aerial yoga, Qi Gong and meditation. Rest assured that you will come back completely recharged and refreshed (and maybe even a couple of pounds lighter!) – I absolutely did!

For the first time in a long (looong) time I was able to make myself a priority. I finally tried aerial yoga, hanging upside down and getting a real ab workout in to the sounds of Spanish dance tunes and Maria Callas’ Opera. I knew I was in great hands as all instructors at REVĪVŌ have been personally trained by the best in the industry. The best part was knowing that all my fitness activities would be followed by a trip to the spa – a soothing Balinese massage that eliminated all the knots from my aching muscles. Heaven!

For me, clean eating is an extremely important component of feeling great and absolutely no compromises were made on the quality of the food. Renowned Chef Aliwalu has designed all meals to be free from any preservatives and additives while still bursting with flavour. All ingredients are sourced from local, organic farms with a focus on making the dishes high in protein balanced with healthy fats while being low-carb and gluten free. No need to cook or eat the kids’ leftovers for the week!

This was a dream come-true for an exhausted mum, I was able to sleep through the night without any toddler potty runs and actually found the time to get a facial for that #holidayglow! I hadn’t realised how badly I needed to take some time out for myself. I found that when I came back to Hong Kong, I was completely re-energised. I would recommend this stay to any fellow mamas who needs some RRR – Rest, Recharge and Rejuvenation on a mamacation!
