Weekender: Enjoy an Arty Brunch at Hullett House, Be a Prima Ballerina and Watch the Cricket Sixes!

Parties & PlayPost Category - Parties & PlayParties & Play

It looks like the city (and our littlies!) have all got Hallowe’en fever already – but there’s still another week to go! So keep the ghouls and ghosties at bay with our selection of ideas for the forthcoming week.

Howzat!
Hong Kong’s Annual Cricket Sixes
is the longest-running and most high-profile Sixes tournament in the world – so it’s the perfect opportunity to get your brood off the sofa watching sports on the telly to actually start soaking up the thrills and spills in person! Cricket Sixes are a more fast-paced, exciting version of the gentleman’s game and this promises to be a fantastic three-day fiesta, with an All-Stars cricket legends team to please the dads, and a touch of the Rugby Sevens’ electric atmosphere too.

When: 28-30 October, 8am
Where:
Kowloon Cricket Club, Jordan
How much:
Adults $100, $800; children $50, $380, www.hkticketing.com, 3128 8288

Nom nom
There’s a great promotion to be had at Sassy fave 208 Duecento Otto this month – you can enjoy one of their signature Napoletana pizzas (baked in an oven shipped over from Naples, no less!) plus two beers for just $208! Put us down for the super-spicy Diavola… and if ever there was a deal designed for sharing – either for date night dinner or a meal out with the girls – this is it!

When: Until 31 October, 6pm until last orders
Where:
208 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, 2549 0208
How much:
$208 (plus 10% service charge)

Enjoy an arty brunch
Let the kids get arty whilst you get full with a special family brunch, courtesy of Anastassia’s Art House at Hullett House. There will be a series of special art workshops to teach the little ‘uns how to draw horses, whilst the grown-ups can enjoy a fantastic alfresco brunch in the scenic garden surroundings of one of HK’s most historic buildings. Email [email protected] or call 2838 0040 to book your place!

When: 23 October, 12-3pm
Where:
Stables Grill, Hullett House, No. 2 Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui
How much:
Adults $248, children $98, with one free child brunch admission per booking of two adults

Be a prima ballerina
The National Ballet of China is heading into town and we guarantee that their performance of Swan Lake is one show all the little ballerinas out there will not want to miss! Beautiful dancers, beautiful costumes and beautiful music – it’s no surprise that it’s already sold out… but we’ve heard that there are still a few box seats available for purchase on the day from 10am onwards at the venue’s box office, so get in line early!

When: 23 October, 2.30pm
Where:
Grand Theatre, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tsim Sha Tsui
How much:
$160, maximum of two tickets per person
