Christmas Pajama Party: Marleen Molenaar

One of my all-time favorite holiday traditions: new pj’s to wear to bed on Christmas Eve. Young, old – everyone goes to bed that night in brand spankin’ new pajamas.  In addition to being a sweet tradition (that appeases the kiddos who are dying to open a gift on Christmas Eve), everyone looks pretty darn good in the photos documenting the crazy mayhem of Christmas morning (no small feat given the pre-6am wake-up).

But finding fabulous and high quality pj’s for children isn’t easy – most are usually covered in cartoon characters…and don’t get me started on the fabric quality (ick).    It was precisely this lack of quality sleepwear for children that led Dutch designer Marleen Molenaar to create her own line of simply divine dressing gowns, nightdresses, and pj’s for children aged 2-12 – Marleen Molenaar Sleepwear. Her HK-based company also offers up some lovely sleep sacks and sleepwear for infants and toddlers

And their latest line just launched earlier this month at Lane Crawford is designed in the most delightful Liberty Fabrics.  Based on children’s book illustrations, they are in a word: lovely. Here’s a sneak peek at the fabric – which you have to feel –  love it.  And I think you’ll agree they are absolutely perfect for our Christmas pajama party this year….
