If you are looking for a great meal and an equally impressive view, Wooloomolo Group is always our go-to. Established in 2004, the group has three brands across the city, with two premium steakhouse brands: Wooloomooloo Prime and Wooloomooloo Steakhouse. Specialising in Australian beef, diners can expect to feast on some of the best Aussie cuts, though the restaurants also imports top-notch beef from around the world, to ensure diners are getting the very best seasonal fare, featuring everything from an impressive range of wet-aged steaks, to a sumptuous seafood selection. We especially love the location atop The ONE shopping mall in TST for its killer city views, but if you’re looking for a great steakhouse on the island, don’t forget to check out the Wan Chai restaurant’s rooftop bar – perfect for a pre or post-dinner drink.

Priced at just $318 per person for a trimmed entrecote steak, special house sauce, unlimited French fries and a green salad with walnuts, La Vache! has got to be one of the best value steak experiences in the city. And it’s not just the price that has us going back time and time again. From the totally Instagrammable neon cow sign at the entrance, to the dessert trolley coming round just when you think you couldn’t eat another bite, La Vache! never disappoints. Both the Peel Street and TST locations are open for lunch and dinner daily.

One-Michelin starred Beefbar has got to be top of the list for true carnivores in the city. The contemporary steakhouse opened in Hong Kong in 2015 and serves up a range of premium meats, including the best beef sourced from the United States, Australia, Japan and Korea. As well as delicious and indulgent dishes such as American Prime “Black Angus” beef tartare, Korean 1++ “Short Horn” Hanwoo Striploin and the incredible Comté cheese mashed potato, Beefbar also features a marble Raw Bar serving made-to-order dishes, such as carpaccio, ceviche and tartare. The price point may be high (we recommend leaving the kids at home for this one), but it’s worth it for a truly memorable meal.

Opened in 2018, Steak on Elgin focuses on serving only the finest produce from the British Isles and beyond. Steak lovers will be thrilled by the selection of 100% grass-fed UK native beef, that includes everything from dry-aged fillet mignon, rib-eye and sirloin, porterhouse and more. The restaurant features an elegant main dining room, along with a semi-private table, perfect for special occasions. We love the UK Native Breeds Dry Aged Fillet Mignon on the Bone, coupled with the Creamed Spinach with Bana Cauda Cream, and the starter of Grilled Spanish Octopus with Anchovies, Roasted Garlic and Caper Sauce also stands out.

Nestled in the heart of LKF, head to BA Polo Club for the array of delicious Argentinian steaks, fab cocktails and cool vibe. Decked out in colonial club style, the restaurant is brought bang up to date with paint splashes on the wall, and the fine dining restaurant is transformed into a cool club once the lights dim on Thursday nights for Buenos Aires Rock Club (another one to leave the kids at home for!). Along with choosing your own steak, you can even pick your weapon of choice here, as servers encourage you to choose your own knife before your meal begins. A fun twist which brings this classic steakhouse into the modern era.

Another must try for meat lovers in the city, Blue · Butcher & Meat Specialist steps up the steak game with the signature 45 days Dry Aged 12 to 18 Year Old Pasture Raised Rubia Gallega. Rich, deep and flavoursome, this ultra-hip eatery pushes out serious family style sharing portions. Plus Blue offers bottomless fries with all orders of any steak on the menu or (for an additional $20) you can upgrade to Truffle Parmesan Fries! Don’t forget to sip on one of the cocktails while you’re at it too.

Butcher, deli and restaurant, Feather & Bone has a little something for everyone. While the dine-in menu features dishes such as steak tartare, beef burger and the “Signature Feather & Bone Experience” (where you choose your meat from the counter and how you’d like it cooked, your sides and sauce), if you’re dining at home, you can also take a premium selection of goodies back with you! From meat and seafood, fruit and vegetables, grocery and speciality items, foodies will be spoilt for choice. Dining in and feeling hungry? We suggest going for the Butchers Choice ($320), that features a choice of cuts served family style to the table with sauces and sides, or the Prime Choice ($520), featuring signature dry-aged beef and select cuts.

If you’re looking for a really classic, American-style steakhouse, then head to Morton’s The Steakhouse in TST. Enter into another era with big white table cloths and well-dressed waiters, along with stunning harbour views, and tuck in to fall apart cuts of Filet Mignon, Porterhouse Steaks and the Signature Cut Prime New York Strip. You’ll find smaller eats for the kids on the bar bites menu. Still hungry after all that? Don’t leave without sampling Morton’s’ Chocolate Layer Cake.

Opened by Pirata Group, MEATS is a meat-lovers dream (if you didn’t already guess that from the name!). Offering up so much more than just great steaks, the ‘no reservation, no service charge meat bar’ serves an indulgent selection of carnivorous dishes, from Iberian Porchetta, to Beef Cheek, not forgetting the delicious Hanger Steak and Iberian Presa. Want to try a little of everything? Opt for the tasting menu. At $390 per person, it’s a great way to try a selection of dishes, all served up family style to your table.

Split over three floors, Mr & Mrs Fox is an effortlessly chic spot that serves up award-winning dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood and indulgent snacks alongside craft beer, artisanal cocktails and fine wines. While the ground floor (Mrs Fox) is perfect for casual dining, quick lunches and drinks, the first floor (Mr Fox) focuses on dry-aged steak and seafood, so you can be sure it’s top quality. With options that include a 16-ounce Strip Steak and a 35-ounce Cowboy Steak, you’re sure to have a proper feast at this Quarry Bay establishment. And if you’re looking to book an event space, the entire second floor is a 24-seat private dining room, complete with an adjoining terrace.

Found in California Tower, this centrally located Steakhouse offers up one of the most extensive selections of porterhouse cuts in the city, along with a wide range of other options. Pair yours with a side of truffle mash and creamed spinach gratin and you’ll be set. Don’t know your Sirloin from your Topside? Porterhouse’s Beef It Up menu is the thing for you. Available at dinner service from Sunday to Tuesday, the menu includes a tasting platter of all five cuts from Italian Marango Beef and Australian “Black Angus” beef. For an equally indulgent experience, don’t miss out on the Porterhouse weekend brunch buffet ($428), which includes unlimited access to the restaurant’s carving station, fresh seafood bar and buffet.
