Healthy eating doesn’t need to be difficult.
The festive season is fast approaching and with it, endless parties, catch ups and social engagements. You want to be looking and feeling your best of course, but us mamas are busy women! Sometimes it can be hard to ensure that every meal is balanced, healthy and nutritional (as well as calorie controlled if you’re counting!). Here are five catering companies that deliver ready-made, delicious and healthy meals to take the stress out of your food prep.
NOSH serves up fresh, healthy, delicious meals, delivered right to your doorstep. First, choose from the Regular or Veggie menus, and then customise to your health goals by selecting from its weight loss, balanced or muscle-building options. If you don’t feel like eating from the plan every day, you can opt to have meals delivered as few as three times per week (Monday to Wednesday) and up to five days (or for extra savings buy a 20-day package). Prices are reasonable starting at $222 per day (veggie balanced meals, 20-day package), up to $401 per day (muscle building, 3-day package) and include three meals and a snack.
Sassy Mama tip: NOSH also offers catering for large events and junk boat trips. After just a single meal? It is also on Deliveroo!
This Hong Kong catering company is dishing up meals for busy families. Decide between low-carb for weight loss or the balanced option for maintenance or muscle gain and then opt for small or regular-sized portions. Packages start at $830 per week with discounts available for longer orders (save 5% on a two-week order and 10% on a four-week order). Nutrition Kitchen is great for those who want more flexibility in your meals. You can choose whether you’d like two or three meals per day and can add on healthy snacks. A great option if you find it easy to make your own breakfasts, or always have lunch with your work buddies!
Eatology Asia prides itself on providing fresh, gourmet meals to suit almost any diet. As well as the usual weigh-loss and vegetarian menu plans, you can also choose from paleo, keto, Asian and optimal performance. For those who want to make their programme even more specific, meet with one of the Eatology dieticians and have them customise a programme according to your individual nutritional needs. A fantastic way to save time, enjoy tasty, healthy food and stay in great shape!
All you have to do is choose your menu, decide whether you’d prefer two or three meals delivered daily (Monday to Saturday) and which day you’d like your programme to start. It’s as easy as that!
This meal plan is designed for active gym-goers looking to maximise their performance. You’ll know precisely the ingredients, macros and calories in each meal, perfect for tracking and monitoring your health goals.
Mealthy’s focus is on clean eating. No unnecessary additives, only fresh ingredients and all prepared to order right here in Hong Kong. Meals range from 300 to 450 calories, dependent on whether you are aiming for fat loss or muscle gain. Prices are from $80 to $95 per meal and packages are purchased in two-week blocks (of either 20 meals in two weeks, or 40 meals in two weeks).
This is one for those who want to combine fitness with healthy eating as it is a programme run by fitness company F45. It’s designed for weight-loss and muscle gain, and is definitely not for the faint-hearted (as this Sassy Mama found out!). The first two weeks of the programme is a detox and you’ll cut out not only alcohol, but most carbs, red meat, dairy and (gasp!) coffee. If you survive that, you start four weeks of more balanced meals before finishing off with two weeks of foods to stimulate fat loss and encourage muscle gain. Combining the meal plan with the HIIT F45 workouts is tough, but you’ll certainly see results. There’s also a sense of comradery as you participate with other gym members and the trainers encourage you along the way.
Recipes for the meals are found online (for free!) if you like to cook at home yourself, or for busy mamas out there, have your meals delivered to your local F45 studio by catering company White Lemon.
Sassy Mama tip: The challenge runs globally on specific dates with the next one starting in October and finishing on Sunday, 8 December, 2019 (just in time for Christmas!).
