A Recipe for Guiltless Chocolate Indulgence: Healthy Chocolate Fudge Brownies

EatPost Category - EatEat - Post Category - CookingCooking

Want to devour rich chocolate fudge brownies without an ounce of guilt? Try this fabulous and healthy recipe!

With three children, I am always on the hunt to make, bake and cook up a storm at home. One is just about to be weaned, but with the other two, plus my husband, I have a variety of palates to appease.

There is one thing all of our tastebuds agree on, however… CHOCOLATE!

Why do we love chocolate in our home? Actually, the type of chocolate makes all the difference. But it’s often difficult to find “real” chocolate in regular shops. If you read the ingredients you will see that most chocolate in stores are actually merely ‘chocolate flavoured sugar bars’! However, provided it is raw, chocolate has more than 300 nutritional compounds and is one of the richest sources of antioxidants of any plant-based food. It is linked to a number of health benefits such as lowering blood pressure, improving circulation and digestion, promoting cardiovascular health and function, enhancing well being and neutralizing free radicals. If that doesn’t sell it to you, it is also an appetite suppressant and an aphrodisiac!

I wanted to create a gluten free, nut free and vegan friendly Chocolate Fudge Brownie, for everyone to enjoy. People today are becoming more aware of allergens or intolerances or may just want to eat more healthy options – This creation is perfect for them.

Twenty minutes is all it takes to whip up this treat, even whilst tending to the children.

I start off with some of my favorite ingredients: stone ground raw tahini, oat flour, maple syrup, vanilla essence, Himalayan salt, baking soda, maple syrup, and of course, raw cacao powder. Throw the ingredients in a bowl and follow the steps below and the result is the most delish, fudge-brownie. All I have to say is my hubby barely left any for the rest of us. If he approves of this healthy treat then it must be an awesome sign!!
