Parents the world over swear by the Montessori system of education and for good reason! After all, this method of learning has been well established for over a century. Educators have found that the Montessori approach helps develop a child’s senses, character and practical life skills, along with academic ability. Guidepost Montessori has schools the world over and has two campuses here in Hong Kong, in Kennedy Town and Chai Wan. If you’re scouting around for a school for your child, Guidepost is inviting you to visit its campuses on Saturday, 5 June 2021 for an Open House session.
Guidepost caters to children between 6 months and 6 years. It believes that children thrive when given freedom and responsibility in Montessori environments. So at Guidepost, you will observe the lovingly prepared classrooms with carefully designed learning materials. Classrooms follow an open floor plan to create a learning environment that encourages child-led discovery. There are areas for group activity and some for independent learning. When you sign up for the Open House, you will also get to interact with the school’s experienced and caring teachers. These trained educators are equipped to nurture children in dual language classes (English and Mandarin).
A Montessori education allows children to develop concentration through uninterrupted blocks of work time, multi-age classrooms and child-directed work. This learning method fosters independence, self-motivation, personal responsibility and engagement. Guidepost offers different types of classes:
- Montessori Together playgroups (6 to 24 months)
- Toddler Community (ages 2 to 3 years)
- Children’s House Kindergarten Community (ages 3 to 6 years)
Guidepost is now enrolling for its 2021-22 school year across both campuses.
