Stamford American School is all about individualised learning, and they’re opening their doors in Hong Kong!
That’s right mamas, come September 2017, your child will have the opportunity to be one of the first Stamford American School – Hong Kong students, with the privilege of a unique standardised curriculum in an upcoming state-of-the-art campus located centrally in Ho Man Tin, Kowloon.
An expert in American and International Baccalaureate* curriculums for 5-18 year olds, the Hong Kong campus opening follows the huge success of sister school Stamford American International School – Singapore, which today has a vibrant community of over 3,000 students from 70 countries!
Two thumbs up to Stamford American for being a part of global school network Cognita, comprising of over 65 worldwide. You can be confident that this is a school providing excellent teaching and support for every child to achieve their potential, cornerstones of a Cognita education. From your child’s first day at school in Pre-Primary (Kindergarten), Stamford American offers an academically rigorous curriculum based on the American Education Reaches Out (AERO) and Common Core Plus Standards.
And by the time your little one is not so little anymore (time goes fast, doesn’t it, mamas?!), they’ll have a choice of over 40 International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP)† courses in Grades 11 and 12. Your child will graduate with either the IB DP or the American High School Diploma, or both, giving them unparalleled choice and competitive advantage.
The Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Reading Program’s Benchmark Assessment System (BAS) for students from Pre-Primary through to Grade 5 means dedicated teachers ensure your child receives a tailor-made reading program. Students here will undergo continual standardised Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) assessments in Reading, Math and Science twice a year, progressing to pre-university testing from Grade 8 and the IB Diploma examinations in Grade 12. This preps your growing genius for future success! It’s true, mamas: 90% of their sister school’s first graduates were accepted to their first choice university!
Your child just might be part of the next generation of engineers, scientists, entrepreneurs and business leaders with a Stamford American education, which offers a problem-based STEMinn (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math & Innovation) Program from age 5. Keen for your child to speak more than one language? This school believes that being multilingual is a key element of global citizenship, offering a a World Language Program with two daily choices (in Chinese or Spanish), or a bilingual program in Chinese from age 5 as well.
If all this wasn’t enough, we also love the sound of the prestigious Global Mentor Program, a huge success at the sister school, having seen the likes of Nobel Laureates, Olympic Medalists and World Record Swimmers. The Hong Kong Campus will be inviting the world’s most inspirational minds, industry leaders, artists and athletes to engage with and motivate students to achieve more than they believe they can.
Want to get a real feel for the school? The Hong Kong campus is inviting you to their inaugural Open House on Thursday, 8 September! Plus, mamas with 1-5 year olds also get an invitation to one of the monthly free playgroups. To redeem, simply sign up online, or email [email protected]
