Learning how to raise resilient children in today’s world

It’s no secret our kids today are more stressed-out and anxious than ever before. With the invention of smartphones and tablets, their access to constant stimulation, media and other influences has only kicked that level even higher. Which is why we are really impressed by Stamford American’s upcoming FREE information session on 15 March open to parents of children in Kindergarten to high school to address these issues and more. Its visiting counsellor from Singapore, Laura Day, has three third culture kids of her own – and they all attend Stamford American! – so she is quite aware of the everyday stresses our Hong Kong life has presented! Even though she hails from Singapore, it’s almost as if she has a peek into our family lives around here!

The best part about this discussion is parents will come away not only understanding more of what causes stress and anxiety, they will also get some tips on how to manage those problems and encourage their kids to become more resilient. There will be a special Q&A segment held in an intimate setting where parents can ask all the questions they like on this topic. And because Laura is an advocate for children in transition, she will bring her experience of raising her own kids overseas to the discussion, and also address how tough it can be for kids raised here as well.

It’s hard enough parenting young kids, and when they are feeling insecure, upset or worried, we want to have the tools and knowledge to help the work through these times. We’re excited about this discussion because it’s designed to help you at those difficult moments, and to teach you what to say and what to do if and when those times arise – something even the sassiest of mamas has a hard time doing!

So don’t miss out on this opportunity to help your kids be the best – and toughest – they can be! Book here now and join in this incredible discussion!
