With its cheeky neon cartoon kid’s face logo to draw you in, Sassy Mama just can’t get enough of May Chow’s Little Bao. What started as a stall in the Island East Markets is now the coolest diner in town. Little Bao serves her take on traditional Chinese bao – which means delicious pork belly, vegetarian “Sloppy Chan” and fish tempura versions – alongside sharing plates (her mac ‘n’ cheese is out of this world!), sweet but salty LB fries, and the most delicious deep fried green tea ice bao for dessert. No wonder they are making devoted followers out of Hong Kong food fanatics! Check out our That Girl profile of May here. Little Bao, 66 Staunton Street, Central, Hong Kong, 2194 0202

Robbie Williams’ new swing-inspired album feels just right as we head into the holiday season. As the title Swings Both Ways suggests, the album features a mix of classics and new material, and sees Williams duet with the likes of Lily Allen, Kelly Clarkson, Michael Buble and Rufus Wainwright. Perfect with some mulled wine as the Hong Kong nights finally get colder!

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 fulfils my love of all things retro and has more options than most instant film cameras, with modes that include party, action, double exposure (my fave!) and landscape. While we all have smartphones with cameras, the lure of film just cannot be denied and this little camera ticks all the boxes! See all Hong Kong stockists here.

Noor Fares, the Lebanese-born, London-based jeweller, is wowing fashion girls all over the world with her sculptural talismanic pieces. Influenced by her globe-trotting travels and studies in history of art, Fares creates stunning yet simple creations from white gold, rubies and diamonds to ebony, bronze and exotic woods. Rubik’s cubes, crescent moons, geometric stars and pyramids are just some of the shapes that get the Fares makeover! Special touch: her signature protective ‘eye’ is engraved on the inside of most pieces. Available at Net-A-Porter.

Green Vitamin may have had all their kale crops ruined by the bad weather from typhoons hitting Hong Kong, but the team is back with fresh crops and a whole new range of goodies prepared by raw food chef Shima Shimizu! A comprehensive menu of raw flaxseed crackers, raw coconut yoghurt (you will never go back to store-bought sugary versions after this!) water kefir in lemongrass and ginger or coconut, kale chips and the most divine domes (choose from bitter chocolate, coconut, lemon or cinnamon) now sit alongside Green Vitamin’s original offerings of wheatgrass shots, beetroot and olive oil. Oribe, the hair stylist who ruled the editorial pages of Vogue in the 90s and is beloved by Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and supermodels galore, now has a range of signature haircare products available to use at home! Yes, they are pricey… but they smell amazing and are paraben and sodium chloride-free. Available from Net-A-Porter.

Letters of Note, the Twitter account curated by Shaun Usher full of inspiring, amusing and unusual letters, has now become a book of the same name! With 125 letters inside, including one John Steinbeck wrote to his son, Iggy Pop’s letter to a fan and Marilyn Monroe thanking the German Consul for some champagne, the book is poignant, entertaining and makes you lament the lost art of letter writing.

Sassy’s loving high-shine shoes! After-dark glamour gets some serious sparkle with shoes and boots embellished with crystals. Part high-octane 80s glam, part edgy rock chick, Rene Caovilla has some of the best selections out there. Beautifully made and fabulous to a fault, it’s no wonder that Beyoncé, Rhianna and Taylor Swift are already fans. Available at Lane Crawford.

Flowers in the Attic, the cult novel by V.C. Andrews, was the scandalous reading matter for a generation of young women in the early 80s! Now a new movie version is set to come out in January, starring Heather Graham, Ellen Burstyn and Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka – and unlike the 1987 adaptation, this one is supposed to stay true to the book. We’re excited!
