Get breastfeeding off to the best start!
As mums, we are well aware of the benefits of breastfeeding. Did you know that your breast milk has been designed to uniquely adapt and protect your bub from infections as it is rich in antibodies and helps to strengthen the immune system? One-of-a-kind milk especially for your little one, how magical is that! For new mums looking to breastfeed, the World Health Organization recommends that they initiate breastfeeding within the first hour of life. All the more reason to pick a pro-breastfeeding hospital for your delivery. Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong encourages and supports breastfeeding and is proud to be the only private hospital currently that has joined the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative in Hong Kong.
So what’s on offer if you sign up to deliver at Gleneagles? To start, all the nurses there are midwives and when you give birth at Gleneagles, their professional team will be there to support and teach you on how to breastfeed, guiding you through all the initial hiccups with tips on how to get your latch and hold right, recognise baby hunger cues and calm your newborn. It also provides skin-to-skin contact and 24-hour rooming-in services, which allow mothers to be with her baby round the clock, with nurses on hand to help upon request.
A key component to get breastfeeding off to a good start is preparation, and so the hospital offers comprehensive lactation clinic counselling (prenatal and postnatal). Topics covered not only breastfeeding technique but also breast care and support to mothers as Gleneagles cares about you too! If you give birth there, you will be offered a 20% discount as well.
Sounds good? Look at Gleneagles’ special offers on its obstetrics packages* available until Thursday, 31 December 2020. These packages cover doctor and hospital fee and are available in a 2-bedded standard room (which means more privacy compared to a traditional standard room!), starting at $53,400 and going up to $97,100, and a fee cap of $5,000 will be offered for additional services incurred – giving you much-needed peace of mind about fee certainty so you can concentrate on the important task of growing and delivering your baby as safely as possible!
There are also many options available for vaginal deliveries (3 days and 2 nights) and Caesarean sections (5 days and 4 nights), depending on your needs and preferences, including:
