Week 28 & 29: delivery please! Internet shopping for all the basics

Style & BeautyPost Category - Style & BeautyStyle & Beauty

Now that baby is starting to weigh down my middle section, I no longer have the strength or stamina to go to three different grocery stores to find all the ingredients I need to cook one recipe for dinner. Forget trying to drag laundry detergent and paper towels home from the store… I can hardly carry my own purse!

In New York City, my husband and I could place an order with Fresh Direct, and the next thing we knew we would have fresh veggies, fish, meat, and baked goods delivered to our door. Was there anything like this here in Hong Kong? Oh yes!

For fresh seafood delivered to your door you can check out South Stream Seafoods. You can get fresh fish, live shellfish, or frozen options of both! They also have a large selection of gluten free products.

For meat and chicken, check out The Porterhouse. They offer a large selection of USDA Prime, Certified Angus Beef®, and Grain-Fed Australian Angus. They also sell Turkey Burgers, which are a quite rare find here in Hong Kong!

For fruits and veggies (although I have to admit I haven’t tried it yet), check out Homegrown Foods. They offer a wide range of locally grown organic fruits and veggies.

For home goods, my go to site is Park N Shop. I get all my bulky items like household cleaners, bottles and cans from here. Ok, fine… I might throw in a package or two of cookies or chips too!

For put together meals, I look to Secret Ingredient. They sell all the fresh ingredients you need to make a healthy, delicious meal. They even measure out all the ingredients! You can check out Maura’s full review of Secret Ingredient here.

I can have everything I need from broccoli to kitchen cleaner delivered to my door with the click of a few buttons. Now, I don’t have to worry about carrying heavy packages and wasting energy going from store to store. I can save that energy for the months ahead… I have the feeling I might be relying a lot on the amazing delivery options available here in Hong Kong, even after the baby’s arrival!
