Style & BeautyPost Category - Style & BeautyStyle & Beauty - Post Category - Beauty & SpasBeauty & Spas

The weather is well and truly heating up, so it’s time to get those pins out in public!

The temperature has risen and the humidity has really kicked in, so no more hiding those legs away in long trousers mamas, it’s just too hot! Of course, that means we might need to spend a little longer on our self-grooming routine, yes we’re talking hair removal.

It’s always easier to have it professionally done because not only does it last longer than shaving, but it also means you won’t get any nasty bumps and lumps afterwards (and no risk of nicking yourself with a razor either!). We know that time is incredibly important to busy mums (and dads who might be after a chest or back wax), so this list of our favourite Hong Kong hair removal salons will leave you silky smooth and ready to face the great outdoors in no time.

High Society Skin Clinic hair removal Hong Kong

High Society Skin Clinic

Already experts in eyebrow and lash grooming services, High Society Skin Clinic has also been making a name for itself in the realm of laser hair removal. And as busy Mamas know, it’s good to have all your pampering needs under one roof! The clinic specialises in Candela Laser Hair Removal, which targets the hair follicle with laser energy to destroy it at its root, all while preserving the surrounding skin. A patented Dynamic Cooling Device™ (DCD™) is used to prep the skin, spraying the surface with a cooling burst of cryogen just milliseconds before the laser pulse in order to make the process as comfortable as it is effective. For the best results, the clinic recommends a set of four to six treatments.

Sassy Mama Tip: Get a package of eight sessions for the underarm at just $960 (instead of $2,500), book eight sessions for a full bikini (vio) or full arms starting at $4,800 (instead of $15,000/$9,800), and eight sessions for full legs will set you back $6,500 (instead of $15,000). But hurry! These prices are available until Friday, 30 April 2021.

Browhaus

The name is a bit of a giveaway with this concept store, so no prizes for guessing it specialises in brow and lash grooming. And with outlets across the globe (including in London, New York and Shanghai), you know it’s doing something right. All of its therapists have been put through their paces at its own Browhaus Training School, so rest assured they are highly skilled. It offers several options for basic brow shaping (with classic threading from $195, or thread and tweeze for $265), as well as colour tweaking.

Dolma Waxing Boutique

Dolma is a bit of an institution on the Hong Kong waxing scene (and with very good reason), having built up a dedicated following over the past two decades. Her boutique promises a relaxing and comforting environment, with cleanliness as a top priority. It’s also reasonably priced, with bikini waxes from $250. You’ll pay $350 for a Brazilian, which the therapists can complete in a speedy 15 minutes. Plus, you can get your brows sorted while you’re there, with eyebrow threading from $150. Feel Good Factor

The Feel Good Factor has stood the test of time in Hong Kong since 1999, and with good reason in our opinion. Its friendly staff are sure to help you out if you need advice about any of its many hair removal offerings (which include waxing, threading and IPL). Its waxing starts from $60 for toes, a Brazilian bikini wax will set you back $490 and you’ll pay $200 for its eyebrow threading. For IPL, the salon has single sessions (from $400) or you can pay for a set of six (from $2,400) and receive one extra free.

Freedas Limited

Freedas may be no-frills but, with five locations across Hong Kong (including one in Discovery Bay), there’s a reason this salon is popular. If you’re looking for cheap waxing and threading, this is where to get it. Its therapists are certainly speedy, with one Sassy Mama Editor describing it as the fastest bikini wax she’s ever had (expect to pay around $270 for a Brazilian). And with upper lip threading from just $20 and eyebrow shaping from $30, what’s not to love! It may not be five-star luxury, but it definitely does the job.

Four Seasons Spa

The Spa at the Four Seasons is equally high-end (we recommend treating yourself to a manicure at its Nail Bar afterwards if it’s a special occasion). As well as a varied choice of massages and facials, it offers essential waxing and threading treatments. Again, it pays off to go mid-week so you can take advantage of the reduced prices on a Monday to Thursday (when bikini waxes cost $330 to $600, rather than $505 to $900 on Fridays to Sundays).

Hair removal Hong Kong Sense of Touch

Sense of Touch

Sense of Touch has several locations in Hong Kong, including its five-storey flagship spa in LKF. It emphasises the high quality of its wax, which it says makes its Brazilian ($480) “almost painless”. Half-leg wax will set you back $350, but it offers a number of waxing combos that could save you money if you’re looking to have more than one area treated (e.g. you can get a Brazilian bikini with a half leg wax for $750). It also has eLase hair removal on its menu with prices starting from $650 for single sessions, or $3,000 for a package of eight sessions.

On a side note, beauty salon Flawless has been absorbed by Sense of Touch after it sadly had to close its Wyndham Stree doors due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Flawless package holders can use their credit at Sense of Touch until the end of 2021 and there are some exclusive welcome deals to be had for Flawless devotees.

The Oriental Spa Hong Kong, The Mandarin Oriental

You can expect quality in luxury surroundings from the Oriental Spa at the Landmark Mandarin. While you probably don’t want to waste a visit here on just hair removal (try to squeeze in a facial or massage too if your budget allows it), it does offer a full waxing and threading menu. It’s worth noting it’s slightly cheaper to go on a weekday, rather than at the weekend. Bikini waxes range from $350 to $550 on Mondays to Thursdays ($380 to $580 from Fridays to Sundays) and leg waxing from $350 (prices are subject to a 10% service charge).
