Celebrate Earth Day with HandsOn Hong Kong and lend a hand to protect the growing environment for Mangroves at Ha Pak Nai’s beach cleanup.
Mangroves provide diverse habitats, breeding sites and feeding grounds for a large variety of coastal species. They play an important role in maintaining the stability and ecological balance of coastal and marine ecosystems.
Hong Kong used to contain a rich and diverse ecology, including mangroves, mudskippers and fiddler crabs. Today, the entire ecosystem is at threat, especially in Hong Kong’s western areas due to numerous amount of waste left behind by human activities and pollution from the Pearl River.
…So show your love for our local beaches and precious mangroves by bringing the family to the Earth Day Beach Cleanup!
