Editor’s Note: The situation in Hong Kong due to the coronavirus is constantly evolving and so opening times and restrictions may be in place for stores. Please make sure you follow the latest government advice on social distancing and stay home if you have recently travelled overseas, have interacted with anyone who has been away, or display any symptoms. Your family’s health is the top priority!

Ah Chi Co. is an unpretentious shop, akin to the cramped hardware stores (in that if you ask a salesperson for something specific they can pull it out for you in 10 seconds). We love the staff for their service and expertise – one Sassy Mama had a baby who wouldn’t take a bottle and they suggested the perfect option to try. You can also buy big name brands here like ErgoBaby and Medela. It’s open Monday to Friday 11am to 7:30pm; Saturdays from 11am to 6:30pm.
Baby Central (online only)
This online shop offers everything you could ever need, with the convenience of same day or next day delivery along with free local shipping over $450 (anything under has a $50 delivery charge). Baby Central carries tried and tested quality products with a variety of international brands such as Melissa & Doug toys, Lamaze, The First Years and Aden & Anais (see its full list here). There are toys, clothes, diapers (we’re talking Pampers and Huggies among others), snacks, formula, accessories especially for mum, and more.
Baby Online (online only)
Another online company, Baby Online was started by a stay-at-home mum who wanted to create a shop that carried all the best and recommended products. Supplements, diaper bin liners (cloth and plastic), diapers car seats, formula, educational resources, books, toys, clothes, gifts, groceries (gluten-free and organic too!)…the list goes on. It even carries wine! Yup, you read that correctly. This is your perfect all-encompassing mama shop! With fast delivery, if you need it, the customer service is great in our experience as well.
While there are quite a few Toys R Us baby and toddler stores in Hong Kong that carry some baby and child items, there is only one exclusive retail store for Babies R Us. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, this staple chain shop carries almost all nursery items, as well as loads of toys and books.
Another chain with plenty of retail baby and toddler stores all over Hong Kong, including Central, Causeway Bay, Kowloon and the New Territories. Eugene Baby carries a variety of international brands, from daily necessities to items for mum during and after pregnancy, as well as strollers and car seats.

This staple has got your back for a wide range of needs. From cots to changing tables, to kids beds and furniture, tableware, gym mats, toys, baby-proofing and more – grab that blue reusable carrier bag and get several birds with one stone.
This shop is great for those who are looking for options outside Hong Kong Island, as it has retail stores located in Kowloon and in the New Territories. It even has an online shop and offers free local shipping over $800 ($50 charge for anything under). Specialising in some of the larger items needed for baby, such as cribs, changing drawers, and high chairs, it carries everything you’ll need to furnish a nursery from top to bottom. It also has a selection of car seats and baby monitors.
With beautiful items much loved by the Sassy Mama team, Malabar Baby was born in 2014 when Hong Kong Mama Anjali Harjani began a search for affordable, yet beautiful, natural baby linens after finding out that she was expecting. From bedding to swaddles, blankets to clothing and more, designs are internationally inspired and handcrafted using ethically sourced natural organic cotton. Using fine craftsmanship (and a huge emphasis on respect in the workplace) this brand definitely gives back to others with environmentally friendly initiatives, fair-trade factory collaborations and support of charities – including Mothers Choice right here in the city. Oh, and if it’s good enough for a royal baby’s first public outing (ahem, Meghan and Harry’s baby Archie, no less) then it’s good enough for us!
This one-stop-shop for all things health and beauty (found all over Hong Kong) also stocks a wide range of mama and baby products as well. Here you’ll find baby food, diapers, bath toiletries, bottle warmers, sterilisers, pre- and postnatal vitamins and even stretch mark creams for mamas!
Mothercare is our go-to for larger items. Its selection of car seats, cots, and prams allows you to really check the quality and – most importantly in Hong Kong – the size and portability. With plenty of stores to choose from and an online shop as well, it offers one of the best selections for baby and toddler stores with relatively convenient locations. From local to international brands, Mothercare carries most of the baby and toddler essentials from eco-friendly diapering options to potty training necessities, clothing (including bathing suits and sun cream all year round), nursing covers and bottles and even items to outfit a whole nursery.
Specialising in international maternity wear and children’s clothing, MotherCourt has several baby and toddler stores in Hong Kong. It also offers a range of cots, prams and other baby necessities. The main brands include Stokke, BabyZen, and a selection of lovely French products as well. For toddlers, it carries a nice range of SkipHop and other items. The main store is in Central and stocks a full range of items, but you can also find smaller stores with limited stock, such as inside Séraphine, or in Mong Kok or the New Territories. – all store locations can be found on its website.
Mother Organic (online only)
Mother Organic has been providing high-quality organic baby products since 2008 and offers more than 100 different brands (see a full list here). It has all the organic items you need from groceries to clothing and bedding, household cleaners, skincare, toys, teethers and more. What’s even better is that it delivers all over Hong Kong and provides free local shipping if you spend over $200!
Petit Bazaar was founded in 2010 by a French mum and children’s speech therapist, Nerguess Sousi, who wanted to bring chic children’s clothing, toys and décor that she missed from France to Hong Kong. It has skyrocketed since it first opened, selling truly unique trends for kids that are always on high demand by Hong Kong mamas.
This online shop from a Hong Kong mama went live in back in 2019 and stocks a range of baby and kids wear that’s perfect for bed, bath, beach and pool. We like the look of its 100% Turkish cotton hooded ponchos, towels and robes, which are guaranteed to be both soft and light on your little one’s skin. It doesn’t hurt that the styles are also incredibly cute and the cotton is super absorbent (a win-win!). It’s also the only HK stockist of the popular brand Lily & Mortimer, which hails from the UK and specialises in baby and kids clothing, bedding and accessories (also organic, fair trade and sustainable).
If this organic, eco-friendly store isn’t already on your radar, it should be! Petit Tippi is a treasure trove of expertly curated maternity and baby products that not only look good enough for Instagram but are also highly functional (with everything from sleeping bags and bibs, to breast pumps and nursery furniture). It stocks a huge range of cloth diapers, including handy newborn and starter kits in bold colours and pretty prints. If the thought of making the switch from disposables seems a little daunting, it runs how-to workshops at its Sai Ying Pun showroom (as well as other workshops on a whole range of equally useful topics). This is the go-to boutique for modern, stylish and eco-conscious parents looking for products you won’t find at your average baby shop – perfect for gifting too!
Looking for organic grocery items for your bubba? This baby and toddler store carries a plethora such as organic baby formula, porridge, baby wipes, snacks, cleaning products and supplements. We here at Sassy Mama are huge fans of HK’s first online consignment store, Retykle. Because babies and kids grow so quickly, it’s sometimes hard to justify spending the money on adorable clothing and gear. Retykle is the answer to your concerns! Not only will you find gently used (and even new with tags) high-end designer clothing for you and your child, there’s also a selection of baby gear (car seats, strollers, baby carriers accessories etc.) to snap up at reduced prices.
If you’re looking for baby food, nappies, baby toiletries and even sippy-cups, weaning dishes and more, then head to one of your local supermarkets where, between them, you’ll find a range of well-known names. Try TASTE, Park N Shop, City’Super, Wellcome, Market Place by Jasons and more.
As baby and toddler stores go you can’t go wrong here for essential everyday items. Watsons is one of Hong Kong’s main drugstore chains and you can find it all over Hong Kong. Its regular drugstores carry baby essentials such as diapers, snacks, bottle cleaners etc. (we love its baby wipes!) but it also has a few baby specific locations. Additionally, you can order online or through its app (iOS or Android).

Carrying brands from Japan and Australia (see a full list here), Wonder Babies has a store in Tai Wai, New Territories, as well as an online shop. It carries diapers, accessories for mum, snacks, formula and milk accessories, toys, books, clothing, kids crash helmets, children’s cutlery, cleaning products, basic baby care and more.
