If this organic, eco-friendly store isn’t already on your radar, it should be! Petit Tippi’s website is a treasure trove of expertly curated maternity and baby products that not only look good enough for Instagram, but are also highly functional (think everything from sleeping bags and bibs, to breast pumps and nursery furniture at an affordable price point). It stocks a huge range of cloth diapers, including handy newborn and starter kits in bold colours and pretty prints. If the thought of making the switch from disposables seems a little daunting, it runs how-to workshops at its Sai Ying Pun showroom (all its staff are cloth diaper converts so you know you’re in safe hands). It also hosts other workshops on a whole range of equally useful topics, like breastfeeding and tear-free sleep training.
Check out its Facebook page for details of what’s on, to make sure you don’t miss out, or you can request a private consultation on how to prepare for a newborn. Did we mention there’s also a section of the site dedicated to zero waste solutions? This is the go-to boutique for modern, stylish and eco-conscious parents looking for products you won’t find at your average baby shop – perfect for gifting too!
Enter the code SASSYMAMA at checkout to get 10% discount on your purchases. It cannot be combined with any other promotions, discounts or free shipping offers.
Petit Lion Co
Petit Lion Co is a brand new venture from a Hong Kong mama. Its online shop just went live on Monday, 1 July and we predict it’s going to be popular. It stocks a range of baby and kids wear that’s perfect for bed, bath, beach and pool. We like the look of its 100% Turkish cotton hooded ponchos, towels and robes, which are guaranteed to be both soft and light on your little one’s skin. It doesn’t hurt that the styles are also incredibly cute and the cotton is super absorbent (a win-win!).
It’s also the only HK stockist of the popular brand Lily & Mortimer, which hails from the UK and specialises in baby and kids clothing, bedding and accessories (it gets bonus points in our book because it also ticks all the boxes when it comes to being organic, fair trade and sustainable). Lily & Mortimer’s pretty products come in a reusable and washable cotton bag, making storage a doddle! So if you’re tempted to give it a try, sign up to the Petit Lion Co newsletter to get 10% off your first online order and free postage for orders over $500. Don’t forget if you live in Discovery Bay, there’s also free pick up and delivery!
Throughout the month of July, Sassy Mama readers can get an extra 15% discount for their first order online by entering the code SASSY15 at the checkout.
Ah Chi Co.
Ah Chi Co. is an unpretentious shop, akin to the cramped hardware stores (in that if you ask a salesperson for something specific they can pull it out for you in 10 seconds). We love the staff for their service and expertise – one Sassy Mama had a baby who wouldn’t take a bottle and they suggested the perfect option to try. You can also buy big name brands here like ErgoBaby and Medela. It’s open Monday to Friday 11am to 7:30pm; Saturdays from 11am to 6:30pm.
From activity play centres to cots, clothing (for mama and baby!) to car seats, Baby Basics is a one-stop shop for everything you might need. Conveniently located in Central, you can also shop online and enjoy free delivery when ordering over $300 (except outlying islands); online orders to Discovery Bay over $800 get free delivery (additional charges apply for outlying islands). Or you can click and collect in the store if you’d rather check the items before you take them home. If the staff look very familiar, that’s because most of them worked at the very popular Bumps 2 Babes before it closed down. So they know their way about all things baby! If you don’t fancy spending all weekend assembling that new crib, have the experts from the store do it for you for an extra $200. See its Delivery & Assembly information for more details.
Baby Central (online only)
This online shop offers everything you could ever need, with the convenience of same day or next day delivery along with free local shipping over $300. Baby Central carries tried and tested quality products with a variety of international brands such as Melissa & Doug toys, Lamaze, The First Years and Aden & Anais (see its full list here). There are toys, clothes, diapers (we’re talking Pampers and Huggies among others), snacks, formula, accessories especially for mum, and more.
Baby Online (online only)
Another online company, this one was started by a stay-at-home mum who wanted to create a shop that carried all the best and recommended products. Supplements, diaper bin liners (cloth and plastic), diapers (such as Pampers) car seats, formula, educational resources, books, toys, clothes, gifts, groceries (gluten-free and organic too!)… the list goes on. It even carries wine! Yup, you read that correctly. This is your perfect all-encompassing mama shop!
Babies R Us
While there are quite a few Toys R Us baby and toddler stores in Hong Kong that carry some baby and child items, there is only one exclusive retail store for Babies R Us. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, this staple chain shop carries almost all nursery items, as well as loads of toys and books.
Babies R Us, Shop 109A, iSQUARE, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, 2287-1888, www.toysrus.com.hk
Another chain with plenty of retail baby and toddler stores all over Hong Kong, including Central, Causeway Bay, Kowloon and the New Territories. Eugene Baby carries a variety of international brands, from daily necessities to items for mum during and after pregnancy, as well as strollers and car seats.

It even has an online shop and offers free local shipping over $600. Specialising in some of the larger items needed for baby, such as cribs, changing drawers, and high chairs, it carries everything you’ll need to furnish a nursery from top to bottom. It also has a selection of car seats and baby monitors.

Little Whale, Shop G-10, G/F, 92 Siena Avenue, Discovery Bay, Lantau, Hong Kong, 5690 4960, www.little-whale.com
Mothercare is our go-to for larger items. Its selection of car seats, cots, and prams allows you to really check the quality and – most importantly in Hong Kong – the size and portability. With plenty of stores to choose from and an online shop as well, it offers one of the best selections for baby and toddler stores with relatively convenient locations. From local to international brands, Mothercare carries most of the baby and toddler essentials from eco-friendly diapering options to potty training necessities, clothing (including bathing suits and sun cream all year round), nursing covers and bottles and even items to outfit a whole nursery.
Specialising in international maternity wear and children’s clothing, MotherCourt has three baby and toddler stores in Hong Kong. It also offers a range of cots, prams and other baby necessities. Its main brands include Stokke, BabyZen, and a selection of lovely French products as well. For toddlers, it carries a nice range of SkipHop and other items. Its main store is in Central and stocks a full range of items, but you can also find smaller stores with limited stock, such as inside Séraphine, or in Mong Kok or the New Territories – all store locations can be found on its website.

What’s even better is that it delivers all over Hong Kong and provides free local shipping if you spend over $200!
Petit Bazaar was founded in 2010 by a French mum and children’s speech therapist, Nerguess Sousi, who wanted to bring chic children’s clothing, toys and décor that she missed from France to Hong Kong. It has skyrocketed since it first opened, selling truly unique trends for kids that are always on high demand by Hong Kong mamas.

Located in Kowloon, Our Baby also offers online options with free local delivery over $600. It carries hundreds of baby basics from strollers, high chairs, clothes, baby carriers, rockers and chairs, as well as toys and car seats.
We here at Sassy Mama are huge fans of HK’s first online consignment store, Retykle. Because babies and kids grow so quickly, it’s sometimes hard to justify spending the money on adorable clothing and gear. Retykle is the answer to your concerns! Not only will you find gently used (and even new with tags) high-end designer clothing for you and your child, there’s also a selection of baby gear (car seats, strollers, baby carriers accessories etc.) to snap up at reduced prices.
Watsons Baby and Watsons bébé
As baby and toddler stores go you can’t go wrong here for essential everyday items. Watsons is one of Hong Kong’s main drugstore chains and you can find it all over Hong Kong. Its regular drugstores carry baby essentials such as diapers, snacks, bottle cleaners etc. (we love its baby wipes!) but it also has a few baby specific locations. Additionally, you can order online or through its app.
