Back to school, back to you.
In the process of keeping your kids active over the summer holidays, it’s easy to let your own wellness take a break. As the back to school season hits, rejoice in knowing that you can bring time and focus back on you! One of the best ways to get back into your wellness game (physically and mentally) is by popping into a fitness class. It might seem daunting, but there are loads of gym classes that will cater to your workout preference and give you the motivation you need (have you tried doing spin in a pool?). Whether you’re an early-morning riser, or prefer to get it in during lunch, here is a list of studios that are perfect for easing you back into a routine – hello me time!
Pherform is a women-only gym, based on a programme specifically designed to train a female body. Through decades of research with leading exercise scientists, it developed a specialised system that focuses on how a woman’s body responds to training. So, if you’re serious about getting back into it, this is the perfect place to go as it’ll help you find the workout schedule that best suits you. Set up a trial and take the guess-work out of your fitness routine.

These gym classes are available in the morning and during lunch hours, so you can select the one that works best for you. And if you need to take it back to the start, its Fundamentals class is a great option. You can’t go wrong either way!

Barre 2 Barre
On a time constraint? Barre 2 Barre has a variety of 45-minute leg-shaking and ab-clenching classes throughout the week that are available in the early morning and around lunchtime. The BarreAmped methodology is also in tune to components of the female body such as your pelvic floor, so whether you’re prenatal, postnatal, or none-of-the-above, you will be sure to get a good workout throughout your body. And as a frequenter of these gym classes, we can attest to the fact that while the class appears to fly by, we feel the effects of the workout in every muscle group, every single time.

Mindful Pilates can be referred to as “meditative pilates”. Its programme places as much emphasis on cultivating the mind to reach a calm and relaxed state, as it does on strength training. It’s a great way to ease yourself back into a fitness regime as it helps develop an understanding of how your body is connected as you perform each movement. As someone who came here during my own postnatal phase, I can definitely say that this class made me more mindful of my movements.
Don’t feel like standing? Opt for a spin class at XYZ instead! Each power-packed spin session at XYZ is basically a HIIT session on a bike, set to fun music. With classes spread throughout the day, pop in at your convenience and get your heart racing and your body drenched in sweat (promise it’s not as gross as it sounds). The best part? Aside from a little instructor controlled spotlighting, the room is completely dark. So however hard you choose to work is totally up to you!

Find it hard to believe that you can tone-up while getting a blissful Jacuzzi jet massage? Check it out for yourself.
