On a time constraint? Barre 2 Barre has a variety of 45-minute leg-shaking and ab-clenching classes throughout the week that are available in the early morning and around lunchtime. The BarreAmped methodology is also in tune to components of the female body such as your pelvic floor, so whether you’re prenatal, postnatal, or none-of-the-above, you will be sure to get a good workout throughout your body. And as a frequenter of these gym classes, we can attest to the fact that while the class appears to fly by, we feel the effects of the workout in every muscle group, every single time.

Mindful Pilates
Mindful Pilates can be referred to as “meditative pilates”. Its programme places as much emphasis on cultivating the mind to reach a calm and relaxed state, as it does on strength training. It’s a great way to ease yourself back into a fitness regime as it helps develop an understanding of how your body is connected as you perform each movement. As someone who came here during my own postnatal phase, I can definitely say that this class made me more mindful of my movements.

Don’t feel like standing? Opt for a spin class at XYZ instead! Each power-packed spin session at XYZ is basically a HIIT session on a bike, set to fun music. With classes spread throughout the day, pop in at your convenience and get your heart racing and your body drenched in sweat (promise it’s not as gross as it sounds). The best part? Aside from a little instructor controlled spotlighting, the room is completely dark. So however hard you choose to work is totally up to you!

Velocity Aquabike Studio
Looking for a unique way to get back into the fitness scene? Check out the Velocity Aquabike Studio in Causeway Bay. An Aquabike is basically the beautiful result of a spin bike dunked in a Jacuzzi. The bikes are all designed in France exclusively for women and they each provide an effective, fat-burning workout in just 30 minutes.
