Fashion Emergencies
In this desert of affordable clothing that Hong Kong is… it’s always great to come across some fabulous express shipping options that don’t cost the earth! This week I’ve got not one, but two fast shipping options for you in the form of a faster-than-usual version of good ole’ ASOS, plus high-glam newbie Virgos Lounge.
ASOS are offering a one-off super-fast delivery service to Hong Kong for free when your order is $1500 or more. Your goodies arrive in just 3 days – perfect for that fashion emergency! The only downside is that it’s only for a limited time (expiring on 3 December 2013), so choose wisely as the code is valid only once.
Left: Paper Dolls mirrored lace bodycon dress $777; Top right: ASOS top with all over embellishment $870;
Bottom right: Steve Madden Darrt pointed court shoes $1004, all ASOS.
My other surprise shipping experience came in the form of a top I purchased from UK label Virgos Lounge. They charge £10 (approximately HK$120) for shipping but they use DHL, meaning my top arrived in 5 working days from time of order – pretty good going from the UK! For us mere mortals it costs a lot more than £10 to use DHL to ship to Hong Kong from the UK!
If you’re a regular reader, you may recall that I’ve blogged about this label before – it has fantastic statement separates and dresses – perfect for big bashes and black tie events. With party season rapidly approaching, Virgos Lounge is definitely worth a peek if you want to stand out from the crowd. But hurry, as their stock literally flies off the web… fastest finger on that mouse, Goddesses!
Left to right: Midnight Blue dress £92 (approx. HK$1115); Salmi Maxi £95 (approx. $1150);
Danica Dress £95 (approx. $1150), all Virgos Lounge.
Midweek Meal Inspiration
Are you game?! No pun intended, but this is what I’m going to be attempting to cook tonight…
It’s Beer Can Chicken! I know, I know, it looks so wrong – kind of like something from an American teen comedy movie – but I’m intrigued (and the recipe is courtesy of Good Housekeeping – who generally know what they’re talking about)! So, I’ll say it again, I’m game… are you?! Stock up your beer fridge then check out the full recipe here.

And remember Goddesses you are ALWAYS, ALWAYS worth it!
Until next week… XX
