Instant Goddess: Fall fashion from ASOS, River Island and Monsoon

Style & BeautyPost Category - Style & BeautyStyle & Beauty

It has been a while Goddesses! Apologies… but Instant Goddess has been resting up over the summer, and now alas the summer is well and truly over, so it’s back to the fashion grindstone, and time to see what delights are in store for us this season. Of course, all the shops have long gone to A/W 14, some even as early as late July, taking summer from right out under us long before it was over (much to the disgust of Instant Goddess!).

Here in Hong Kong, you know the drill, summer temperatures will stay sometimes well into December, and the last thing you’ll feel like donning are your winter woolies but if you are super-duper organised and looking for some winter wardrobe fillers here are a few ideas to get those purse strings twitching!

Left: Evelyn gilet approx. $615 from Monsoon; Top right: Nude leather turtle neck biker leather jacket $1,885 and bottom right: Teal geometric floral trim boxy jacket approx. $1,005, both by River Island.

Shipping notes: UK high street favourite River Island ships to Hong Kong for $120 and shipping takes approx. 10 days. Monsoon ships to Hong Kong and delivery is free on orders over $950.

Worth a Second Look
For when it cools down, Instant Goddess is loving this lace contrast jumpsuit from ASOS. Sling on one of the winter cover ups above and you’ll be warm and chic before you can say make mine a mulled wine!

Oh Pastel!
Pastels are still going strong into A/W 14 and given the automatic tendency to go all dark and dreary, a little pastel pick-me-up will make you feel fresh as a daisy. Team this light blue embellished skirt from River Island with a crisp white tank for now or a pale blue form fitting sweater for winter. Oh and well done River Island for embellishing all the way around – no cheapskate manufacturing shortcuts here! And of course, Instant Goddess couldn’t resist throwing in these cheeky and affordable slingbacks from New Look.

Sunnyside Up
But if you’re a true Instant Goddess living in the heat of the moment (pun intended), you’ll still be hankering after summer dresses to keep you cool as temperatures are still soaring into the 30s here and just the mere thought of faux fur and leather will make you break into a sweat.

While there’s not much left in the shops, have no fear, you can still find summery frocks online. Here’s what got Instant Goddess smiling:

Midweek Meal Inspiration

Photo 6. TandooriChickenAlways a fan of a low-fat curry, we’re going to be giving this GoodFood Tandoori Chicken from BBC a whirl in the Instant Goddess kitchen this week! Not only is it low in fat, it’s quick and easy to make. You need to marinade the chicken in advance (at least 1 hour) but once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to whip up the curry and probably eat it in the time it takes a Hong Kong delivery to reach your door.

Yogi tea saying of the week: “When the mind is backed by will, miracles happen.”

Instant Goddess saying of the week: “Instant Goddess is waiting (for a miracle and great things).”

Until next week Goddesses!
